Editor’s Note:  It was a pleasure getting to sit down with Ryan “Fluff” Bruce, guitarist for the rising metal band known as Rest, Repose.  Rest, Repose recently released a killer music video for the song “Hanging By A Thread”, which “Fluff” discusses in this conversation with Madness To Creation.  Rest, Repose also has viral YouTuber Jared Dines in the band on drums, who boasts of having almost 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube.  Check out Rest, Repose at the following social media locations:

Also, check out Ryan Bruce’s YouTube channel here, help him get to 200,000 subscribers!  Without further delay, here is Madness To Creation’s conversation with Fluff!

M.T.C.:  How has YouTube been a platform for you to get the word out about Rest, Repose?

Fluff:  We’ve primarily used Jared’s channel to release music videos to expose the group to as wide of an audience as we can at first. I plug our material as well and often use our music or riffs in demos and when we release new content, it makes the Suggestion of the Week on my FAQ Monday series. So there’s a bit of cross-platform promotion going on there. I think we’ve built and audience large enough now to begin directing traffic to our own band channel.

M.T.C.:  What was the most fun and memorable YouTube video that you have made?

Fluff:  Probably the Things Guitar Store Employees Say with Jared. Spending the day in a guitar store with your buds is amazing!

“Things Guitar Center Employees Say” featuring Jared Dines and Fluff!

M.T.C.:  I love the video to “Hanging By A Thread”, it is heavy as shit!  What are you guys talking about in the song and what do you hope people will get out of it?

Fluff:  Lyrically, Tanner wrote a song about pursuing a relationship he knew would be toxic or detrimental, and still putting in all the effort possible to salvage what could be something beautiful. That feeling of hanging onto someone who simply strings you along like some kind of play thing until they discard you and maintaining that persistence only to lose them in the end, and begging to keep that person in his life in some way, shape or form. He’s been through some shit.

“Hanging By A Thread” by Rest, Repose

M.T.C.:  What can fans expect from a Rest, Repose concert?

Fluff:  Excellent guitar tones, a high-impact, energetic stage show, and a much heavier aspect than we had in the past.

M.T.C.:  If Donald Trump wanted to appear in your viral video, what would you have him do or what would you ask him?

Fluff:  No comment.

M.T.C.:   I grant you an extra hour of your life, but you have to use that hour to interview with anyone, who would you interview and why?

Fluff:  Probably interview Dave Grohl, because at least then I could die hearing the voice of one of my favorite people ever.

M.T.C.:  What is bumping on your stereo right now?

Fluff:  The new Foo Fighters, old Mudvayne, The Eagles and Led Zeppelin. Weird I know.

M.T.C.:  Give me a rundown on what to expect from you guys for the rest of the year!

Fluff:  We’re working with management to secure a booking agency to place us on some tours next spring and summer, hopefully as full time support for a larger act. In the meantime, we’re working on some festivals, one-offs, and going to start pre-production on our third album.

M.T.C.:  Anything else you would like to add?

Fluff:  Please like and subscribe or follow us on all our social media outlets – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, BandsinTown, etc. If we come to your area, buy a ticket and come to the show!

And there you have it! Their full length album “Rest, Repose” is available via I-Tunes, Spotify, and Amazon!  Go pick up a copy today!
