Editor’s Note: In order to appropriately remember the passing of founding AC/DC member/guitarist Malcolm Young, we must remember him as we should in the music industry, and that is by remembering him for what he did best, and that was be the driving force of AC/DC. He created such memorable riffs. If one were to turn on the radio, you immediately knew that AC/DC was coming on because of the three chords, and it was just pure and total rock. Here are my memorable riffs and moments of Malcolm Young:
- Incorporating bagpipes with the thunderous riffs of “It’s A Long Way To The Top(If You Want To Rock And Roll)”. The bagpipes were such a unique touch to the three chords of this early Bon Scott-era rock anthem of AC/DC. Check it out!

2. My favorite AC/DC riff, the song that put AC/DC on the map “Jailbreak ’74”. I still wonder what kind of justice system only has those found guilty serving 16 years for murder though? Oh and button up your shirt Bon Scott!

3. Incorporating cannons for “For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)”. Along with “You Shook Me All Night Long” and “Back In Black”, this put the Brian Johnson era of AC/DC on the map, the cannons are such an amazing touch!
4. The buildup and the explosive end to “TNT”. This is how you buildup a song to an epic climax at the end!
5. Last but not least, the riff that is played at every stadium around the world. I argue that it’s AC/DC’s biggest hit, I’m referring to “Back In Black”.
Malcolm Young is no longer suffering. Dementia is such a crippling disease. Turn AC/DC up to 11 this weekend! Thanks again Malcolm!
