At The Truman in Kansas City, it was metal giants Trivium and Arch Enemy with special guests While She Sleeps and Fit For An Autopsy absolutely slaying and annihilating the crowd of almost 1,500 people at The Truman in Kansas City, Missouri. It was a rainy night and Madness To Creation received the opportunity to interview Lawrence “Loz” Taylor, vocalist of While She Sleeps and Paolo Gregoletto, the bassist of Trivium. As the show began, Fit For An Autopsy took the stage.
Out of New Jersey, Fit For An Autopsy is composed of Joe Badolato on vocals, Will Putney on guitars, Patrick Sheridan on guitars, Tim Howley on guitars, Peter Spinazola on bass, and Josean Orta on drums. Fit For An Autopsy certainly brought the intensity and they were the perfect band to warm up the audience for this night of metal music. The guitarists slayed and looked intense on stage and Badolato looked intense as he commanded the crowd with his screams and his growls. Some of the cuts that the band played include “Hydra”, “Heads Will Hang”, “Absolute Hope Absolute Hell”, and they closed off the set with their staple “Black Mammoth”.
Fit For An Autopsy will be providing direct support for Thy Art Is Murder and Emmure in a tour of Australia and Japan before hitting the road in Europe with Obscura, Goatwhore, and Sepultura. Check out tour dates below!

Sheffield, England’s own While She Sleeps was the next band to take the stage.
Talk about mindblowing! While She Sleeps absolutely astonished and blew away the crowd with their highly energetic performance! They opened up their 30 minute set with their thunderous epic smash “You Are We”, which immediately got the audience into the mindset that there were several different genres of metal at The Truman and we are here for one thing, and that is to forget about our problems and issues and unite under the banner of music! Vocalist Lawrence Taylor was insane live in terms of engaging the crowd and singing/screaming with all of his passion inside of him. Bassist Aaran McKenzie provided a memorable moment for the crowd during “You Are We”. I was in the middle of taking photos, all of a sudden he approached me into the photo pit. My immediate thought was, “oh crap, I got too close” or that I accidentally left the flash on in my camera and that distracted him from playing. He was just using me as support to get down from the stage and he proceeded to get into the crowd and work the crowd into a frenzy while an insane mosh happened. Guitarists Sean Long and Mat Walsh did an impeccable job of playing and providing further strength into the vocals, and Adam Savage just killed it on the drums. They played songs such as “Silence Speaks”, “Steal The Sun”, before ending it with the raucous singalong metalcore jam “Hurricane”. While She Sleeps definitely raised the bar for the rest of the night.
While She Sleeps will be touring Europe and also have a one-off date at Rock On The Range in Columbus, Ohio. In United Kingdom, they will be providing support for Architects. Check out tour dates below!

Arch Enemy was next to take the stage.
Out of Sweden, Arch Enemy is composed of Alissa White-Gluz on vocals, Michael Amott on guitars, Jeff Loomis on guitars, Sharlee D’Angelo on bass, and Daniel Erlandsson on drums. This is one of the tightest bands I have ever seen live from a musicianship standpoint. Loomis and Amott on guitars is simply something to behold and watching Alissa command the stage as if she just took over ownership of The Truman was brilliant. The rhythm section of D’Angelo and Erlandsson was thunderous and really is the driving force behind Arch Enemy’s amazing live set. I was legit not feeling good, battling a migraine so I drank like 15 glasses of water during their set.
Arch Enemy will be spending the first part of 2018 touring Europe, Japan, and Australia. Wintersun and Tribulation will be providing support for Arch Enemy. Check out tour dates below!

Trivium delivered an explosive set. They started with the opener of their smash hard rock hit “The Sin and The Sentence”. The crowd along with the photographers in the photo pit were singing along to every word of that song. You can tell that Matt and Corey of Trivium really showed genuine appreciation for that moment. This was the second time I’ve seen Trivium live and you can tell that they are craftsmen at their trade. That they continue to hone their craft in order to create an incredible live set. Trivium, with the addition of their new drummer Alex Bent, is an even bigger monster live than they were before, and that is saying something. The crowd belted it with their hits “Until The World Goes Cold”, “The Heart From Your Hate”, “A Gunshot To The Head Of Trepidation”, and the set closer “In Waves”. Trivium’s Matt Heafy exuded class when he stopped the show on two occasions to break up fights in the crowd.
It was an unforgettable night of metal. Thanks to these four bands, it completely rejuvenated my passion for live music. I strongly urge you to check out any of the four bands at a show near you.
In March, Trivium will be headlining Europe before coming back to the United States for a few festivals. Powertrip and Venom Prison will open up for Trivium and Code Orange will be joining Trivium for their U.K. shows. Check out tour dates below!
