Out of Sacramento, California a duo that is known as Like Wine Like Water released a three song EP entitled “Bad Hombres”, and let me tell you that this is one interesting EP.
When most people envision California, they envision the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles and the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. To me, the paradise of California is composed of beaches, wineries, and beautiful scenery that is an actual escape from the hustle and bustle of metropolis life,and that is what Like Wine Like Water is bringing to the table.
In Bad Hombres, there are guitar licks that are pleasing to the listener’s ear, especially if one is into acoustic indie rock. There really isn’t any other instruments besides percussion that you would hear on a box or a guitar case at a coffeeshop show. In the single “Dream Of”, they showcase the relaxing atmosphere before appearing to sound snarky in the chorus. In the track “Man Crashes”, I enjoy the social commentary in the track, I only wish it was longer, but the chorus is snappy and upbeat. “We Go” seems to take a satirical intake on the bar scene about all the posers in the bar that act the same.
Overall, this is a solid EP, which provides an appetizer on who Like Wine Like Water are. Madness To Creation actually rates this an 8 out of 10 stars.
