The Spanish-Norwegian artist that was launched globally by Simon Fuller saw some brief success as she received a 2013 Eurodanceweb Award for “Dancing Song of the Year” for “Bombo” and a 2014 MTV Europe Music Award for “Best Norwegian Act”. While she still produces songs, it’s clear that Adelen hit the peak with her songs “Bombo” and “Ole!”.
In 2013, Adelen released one of her two big songs entitled “Bombo”. The song would score the most points in Eurodanceweb history with 284 points scored and it would be the runner-up in 2013 Eurovision! The song would be certified gold in Sweden! Check it out below!
In 2014, Adelen would be at the height of her popularity as “Ole!” was chosen as the theme song for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which is arguably the most popular sports event in the world. The song would go to No. 1 on the Norwegian i-Tunes sales and the “One Love/One Rhythm” compilation album would peak at No. 1 on the Billboard World charts and at No. 45 on the Billboard 200 charts!
Madness To Creation’s take: Her songs are catchy as all get out! I have a soft spot for European pop music because of the techno/house/trance feel to it! It’s just a shame that she never really broke out to become an international pop star because her songs are classy and she has a good voice that fits that European pop music feel to it. I can also see Adelen progressing in the world dance club mix music scene. Madness To Creation rates her a 7 out of 10 stars.
