Out of Houston, Texas is a trio that combines several elements of metal including alternative, nu-metal with mainstream rock and that band is Downfall 2012!  Downfall 2012 will be releasing their latest album entitled “We Welcome The Pain”.

Downfall 2012 is composed of Daniel Gil on vocals/guitars, Boo Rogers on bass/vocals, and Casey Bowen on drums/vocals.  What Downfall 2012 did was they have taken the pain and anguish that mass media, social media, and what we do to each other and wrote about the ideas of what our society does to each other and how we are essentially controlled by mass media and social media these days.  They have also conceptualized songs about what they’ve been through in their personal lives and as a band and they challenge the listener to persevere and to overcome those obstacles and challenges that they might face in their life.

Downfall 2012 appears to draw from several influences such as old school Static X, elements of old-school Disturbed, and old school Skrape, and they hit the listener in between the eyes with their catchy choruses, visceral screams, and intense breakdowns and tight as ever rhythm section, with some harmonies thrown in intricately in significant parts of the songs.  It’s plain to see why this band has shared the stage with the likes of Saliva, Limp Bizkit, Hollywood Undead, Nothing More, and even Ice Cube and also have provided direct support for Otep in 2015 and for Avatar in 2016 on their respective tour packages.

Overall, this album is hard hitting, ranging from the intense vocals and subject matter in “Fooled Once” to the intense rhythm breakdown progression in the track “Attack Point”, to even the feeling of taking what’s mine in the track “Find Your Enemy”, which showcases the take-no-prisoners vibe of Downfall 2012.

Overall, Downfall 2012 is boding well for the future with their hard hitting rhythms, seamless progressions, and making their music universally relatable with their intense subject matter.
