Recently, Southern California’s own Them Evils released their major throwback of an EP entitled “Rollin’ Stoned And Livin’ Free” via Burning Records. If you want rock and a headbanger’s parking lot vibe to it, look no further than Them Evils.
Them Evils is a three-piece band composed of Jordan Griffin on guitars/vocals, Jake Massanari on bass, and David Delaney II on drums. They took their love for the rock & roll lifestyle and the love of living fast and the open road and created this banger of an EP with Kato Khandwala(The Pretty Reckless, Blondie, Drowning Pool, and Pierce The Veil) to produce this banger. Based upon their success, Them Evils have been featured on Loudwire along with performing at Welcome To Rockville, Carolina Rebellion, and Rock On The Range festivals. Their music certainly provides that stadium/festival atmosphere.
Their opening track entitled “Got Me Rockin'” gets people rocking with the new fist pumping, jamming out with a lady around one arm and a beer in the other hand, while people will suddenly forget their cares due to the dynamic guitar work and singing of Griffin while Massanari and Delaney II sound absolutely raw and as dirty as a cigarette girl in the rhythm section. The track certainly has that headbanger’s parking lot feel to it.
“Gets Me High” is full of good times, good vibes, and ready for blazing memories as there is that feel of that throwback 1970s sound mixed with a Queens Of The Stone Age vibe. As the EP progresses, it gets dirtier and louder, which would translate really well on the live stage. “Untold” sounds fuzzy, gritty, and absolutely filthy, as it mixes in unique vocal harmonies along with some crazy good fuzz rock that brings me back to the days of Superdrag. “Practice What You Preach” showcases larger than life riffs to where the listener can turn on the radio and instantly be hooked.
Why say the sky is the limit for Them Evils? Them Evils will be reaching to the nether regions of the furthest galaxy with “Rollin’ Stoned And Livin’ Free”. If you want some gritty, sexy, and pure unadulterated rock songs, then Them Evils is the band for you with this 9 out of 10 star offering. Here is the track listing below.
