Here comes a band that has that throwback garage feel, the kind where it is as dirty as a sexually transmitted disease, as contagious as Influenza A of 2017, and where it’s as raw as a t-bone freshly cut from a cow’s hide, and that band is New York’s Stringer, who recently released their album “My Bad” via Wiretap Records.
“My Bad”, produced by Adam Reich(So So Glos, Titus Andronicus), starts off with “Intro” and “USA”. “Intro” sets the tone for the album and “USA” sounds like a freaking throwback punk track that mixes the catchy sensibilities of The Clash with the snarl of the Sex Pistols. Guitar riffs are aplenty in “Ghosts”, where the snarl is in your face to where it feels like the vocalist is screaming while spitting in your face. “Through The Walls” is a fun ditty that clocks in at barely two minutes where it has that West Coast punk vibe mixed with a classic rock type of riff that makes the song sound all sunshiny while having that vibe that rainbows are shooting out of someone’s arse.
Stringer is ready to become the flagbearer of East Coast punk with their enormous riffs, a snarl that is filled with punk rock attitude, and with songs that are so catchy that you might get infected with a little something something. Madness To Creation rates this album a solid 8.5/10 stars. Here is the track listing below.
