Editor’s Note:  It was a great time chatting with drummer Isaac Lamb of Kublai Khan as they were set to destroy the Mutant Red Dawn stage at Vans Warped Tour.  This was a brief interview as we were completely cognizant of the fact that they had to go on stage.  Nonetheless, Kublai Khan absolutely killed it and won fans over at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota!  Fans can find Kublai Khan at the following locations:

Madness To Creation:  Hey Isaac, thanks for taking the time with me here at the Vans Warped Tour.

Isaac:  No worries man, just bear with me, I usually don’t do the interviews, usually Matt does, but he’s out and about in the Twin Cities today.

Madness To Creation:  No worries man, let’s start off the brief chat that way, what are a couple of things you like to do on your day off?

Isaac:  Just hang out really, I pretty much go with the flow.  The guys usually like being out and about.  I just hang out.  *laughs*

Madness To Creation:  What can fans expect from your set or at any Kublai Khan concert?

Isaac:  We try to make the show as personal as possible.  We strive to connect with every person that we come in contact with, we have met some great people and fans all over the world.

Madness To Creation:  What are you going to miss the most about Vans Warped Tour?

Isaac:  Being out with different bands, I will miss the catering, and just hanging out after it’s over.

Madness To Creation:  One of Kublai Khan’s conquests was Afghanistan in his time where he reigned, where would you like to take Kublai Khan that you haven’t?

Isaac:  That would be good for starters, I want to play every continent, definitely amped up to go out to Europe this fall with our friends in Chelsea Grin and Oceano.

Madness To Creation:  What’s it like playing in different crowds in Europe?

Isaac:  They’re intense, they are more open to checking out new bands as opposed to here.

Madness To Creation:  Take us into the music video for “True Fear”.

Isaac:  I don’t want to throw off any interpretations here, but it’s talking about how it seems like how all the problems in this country are systematic and from institutions.  It’s about how we’re held down by racism, religion, and how everything is so corrupt.

Madness To Creation:  Is there anything that you fear?

Isaac:  No, not really, not really anything I want to talk about here.  *laughs*

Madness To Creation:  I appreciate you taking the time to sit in with us for this interview, I know that you have your set coming up pretty shortly, so I’m going to give you the floor to add anything.

Isaac:  We love meeting our fans, come see us after any set, we like to hang out with you all.

Madness To Creation:  Thank you very much for your time, good luck at your set today!
