2018 is becoming the year that the world will finally discover who Belmont is especially with their riveting single “Hollowed Out”. As of this coming Friday, Belmont will be releasing their self-titled debut album via Mutant League Records.
Fans have been clamoring for this album since their 2016 release “Between You & Me”. In this album, Belmont does a masterful job of creating tremendous guitar riffs to blend in with their punk/alternative style and lyrics that make you reflect while the melodies in the vocals are sweeping and titillating to the ears. In several songs, there is that sense of urgency that will cause fans to take notice of Belmont.
The album opener entitled “Empty” showcases smooth transitions and progressions between the guitar riffs and the rhythm of the music, which will cause the listener to get induced into a glorious mosh pit. The track “Pushing Daisies” offers a more melancholic feeling in the inception, but it picks up ever so smoothly due to the guitar work of Sam Patt, and the lyric “I’m pushing daisies just to slow down and not drown” makes the music universally relatable, as we all have tried to stress ourselves out just so we can slow down, which is not how life is meant to be lived.
There are gems strewn all across this album due to Belmont’s musicianship, Taz Johnson’s uncanny ability to get the message in his voice across, and the way that they get people to think from their lyrics. If Belmont isn’t a household name now, they will be in the punk rock world with this 9 out of 10 album! Pick it up this Friday!
