Editor’s Note: The Darkest Hearts bring about that hard rock that will appeal to fans of multiple genres of music. Their single “Mississippi Devil” just sounds heavy and southern-fried. We are expecting tremendous things from this band. Due to their diverse sound, The Darkest Hearts have shared the stage with Jennifer Hudson, Saliva, and Hinder. Madness To Creation: Single biggest reason why you got into music.
John: We couldn’t help it. Our lives just kind of got taken over by it and we know that if we did quit we would all feel like there was something missing.
Madness To Creation: Take us into Mississippi Devil, what is the song talking about?
John: The song to us is a completely different thing for us than it is for someone else. That is the beauty of music. It can be anything to anyone. As for where the song came from, that is a different story. The song began as Luke having a girl stuck in his head and it formed based on that.
Madness To Creation: Do you believe in concepts of God or the devil, and what is your view on it?
John: Now that is a loaded question if I ever heard one. I (Kramedj) can only speak for myself in saying that I don’t think we are alone but I’m not gonna label anything either.
Madness To Creation: Plans for The Darkest Hearts?
John: We all have one goal for this band. The goal is to be able to sustain a comfortable living doing nothing but music for the rest of our lives.
Madness To Creation: You’ve shared the stage with Jennifer Hudson, Saliva, and Hinder, favorite moment and song from each band/artist.
John: I don’t think I can give that answer because we have slept since those performances and you would end up with different answers from everyone in the band. We have never had an experience with an artist above our station that left a sour taste in our mouths if that will suffice.
Madness To Creation: What is one goal that you have for the rest of the year?
John: To finish our up coming LP. I am dying to get some more music out to our fans. The creative process is one of my favorite parts of all this craziness we call the music industry.
Madness To Creation: Anything else you would like to add about The Darkest Hearts?
John: If you haven’t seen us live then you are missing out!
And there you have it! Special thanks to The Darkest Hearts for taking the time for us! On Friday, November 9th, The Darkest Hearts will be sharing the stage with Stellar Circuits and Hogan’s Goat at Little Harpeth Brewing in Nashville, Tennessee.
