Editor’s Note: Lola Black is an artist that is certainly under the radar and waiting to bust on through in the scene like something that is pressurized and spontaneously combustible. Her music hits hard and is poignant, yet it has positive lyrics that allow for the listener to seek a way out through obstacles and tribulations that they may be going through. “Nothing’s Gonna Be Alright” has potential to be a smash for Lola Black! Thank you to High Road Publicity for setting this up! Fans can check out Lola Black at the following locations:

Madness To Creation: “Nothing’s Gonna Be Alright” was unleashed to the masses at the end of August, take us into the album and the most rewarding thing about the album.
Lola: “NGBA” is special in it’s own right because it is our first full length. Its was recorded and produced by Sahaj Ticotin and Bob Marlette in Los Angeles, CA. This album represents the evolution of our music. Going from a straight up punk rock band to what we are today. It has been very rewarding to look back and see all the great places this journey has taken us. It is our finest work to date and it will be very exciting to see where the next chapter takes us. At the very least we can say we have a world class album produced by some of the best in the rock and roll world, something that so few independent bands can say. We can look back and be very proud of ourselves because we did do it all on our own with out the help of a label. We have met some great people along the way that have been a vital part of our development and this latest release is the crowing achievement of all of these things combined.
Madness To Creation: Take us into the video, it seems to have a sobering message to it.
Lola: The “Nothing’s Gonna Be Alright” music video is meant to be a wake up call of sorts. We are always told in unsavory situations that “Everything is going to be alright”. For many this is a little bandaid to cover what’s really going on and turn a blind eye in sake of comfort. This is a reminder that this comfort is temporary! For me personally NGBA has become a new way of thinking. NOTHING IS GOING TO BE ALRIGHT! Life in general is tough but so are you! It’s up to you to find the beauty in despair. It’s in the boldness to find that beauty that we find ourselves.
Madness To Creation: Tell me about a time when you felt that way and how you got through it.
Lola: I guess in a way I have always felt little to no comfort in hearing “everything’s going to be alright”. My ways of getting through it were not always the right or healthy way to go about things but there is still valuable lessons to be learned in those mistakes. It’s that thick skin that gets you through life.
Madness To Creation: You have achieved some success with your 2016 release of “Sorrow And Sin”, take us into that song, and how did it feel making the top 40 in Under The Radar Active Rock Chart?
Lola: As much as we love our track “Sorrow and Sin” and the success that came with it we unfortunately feel that “The Under the Radar Active Rock Chart” is bogus! I’ll leave it at that… Another lesson learned about putting your trust in shady industry people. Musicians beware!
Madness To Creation: Absolute weirdest fan experience ever.
Lola: On stage, mid song song an overly excited female fan took it upon herself to reach right up my skirt. What she was expecting to find is beyond me. That was pretty weird and brave…I hear you could lose a finger or two doing such things. I’m also going to throw in a fun tip as well. Offering to sign buttholes at the meet and greet always makes for interesting stories as well. I learned a valuable lesson with that one. Be sure to proceed with caution is all I’m gonna say about that!
Madness To Creation: Plans for the rest of 2018?
Lola: We will put out the record and at least 2 more videos and see what kind of organic growth we can achieve. We are going to start hitting the road but try to do it smart and go to the places that people want to see us in. The world is our playground with the kind of reach we can achieve on the internet and with the videos so we will navigate what ever path that seems to lay out in front of us.
Madness To Creation: I just got done listening to Imagine Dragons, what’s on your playlist right now or a band that you can’t get enough of?
Lola: I’m madly in love with K.Flay at the moment. Which is kind of a coincidence because she just got off tour with Imagine Dragons. Very cool!
Madness To Creation: What else would you like to add that we haven’t talked about?
Lola: Just want to say thank you for your time! I hope NGBA finds a special place in everyone’s hearts just as it has mine.
