We were reached out by a representative for Machine Man Records to inquire about reviewing “The Last Place On Earth” by spooky electronic one man project Krebs.  This album is wonderful for the Halloween season, especially if you plan on providing a few more tricks and a few less treats this Halloween season.

Krebs is a one man project led by Michael Haggerty.  Michael does all of the arrangements, producing, programming, and songwriting, and he created this four-song EP entitled “The Last Place On Earth” with certain concepts in mind.

The themes and concepts that immediately come to mind upon listening to this EP is the concept of being alone and feeling completely isolated from the rest of the world.  Krebs does a tremendous job of incorporating dark lyrics, moody electronic beats to create that spooky ambiance, and using the arrangements to tell the story of what life would be like if we were at “The Last Place On Earth”, where everything looks desolate, we feel that despair, and we have those thoughts that can overtake us.

In the four-song EP, Krebs creates that haunting feeling that sometimes we have felt.  “The Last Place On Earth” is a great listen if you’re in that mood for some gothic and spooky electronic music with industrial elements ala Front Line Assembly or early Nine Inch Nails.  Madness To Creation gives this a solid 8 out of 10 stars.  Check out the track listing below.

  1.  The Hollow
  2.  When Hands Go Still
  3.  Umbra
  4.  Moonlit Window
