New York Hardcore means integrity, perseverance and dedication to the cause.  Sick Of It All has been the flagbearers of the hardcore movement for over 30 years, and it’s plain to see why with this Friday’s release entitled “Wake The Sleeping Dragon!”, which will be released via Fat Wreck Chords/Century Media Records.

There has been enough bullshit to write about in this record, and Sick Of It All sounds just as fresh and relevant, while maintaining that righteous anger in “Wake The Sleeping Dragon!”.  They continue to carry the message that there is always time for revolution, while tackling difficult topics in their lyrics such as being against animal abuse, bullshit wars over power and resources, and people being narcissistic on their social media accounts.

The album cover art of “Waking The Sleeping Dragon!” portrays an accurate representation of how Sick Of It All feels about American society.  The album cover art depicts the theme of the dragon taking down the Empire State Building and it showcases how we need to start the revolution now.

Sick Of It All through their intensity in the guitars, taking no prisoners rhythm section, and forcefully insistent vocals get their message across to their listeners just as a charismatic demagogue does amongst their minions.  Blatant attacks on President Trump are heard loud and clear in songs such as “Deep State”, “Bad Hombres” and “Wake The Sleeping Dragon”.  Attacks on social media usage and white privilege are being heard with reckless intent in tracks such as “That Crazy White Boy Shit” and “Self Important Shithead”.

A lot of tracks clock in at less than two minutes, however that is perfectly symbolic of Sick Of It All to be doing that.  They cut straight to the chase and they don’t waste time in their messages, while maintaining the purity and integrity of the New York Hardcore scene.  Sick Of It All continues to remind people of who owns the blueprint of New York Hardcore as they are putting on a clinic with this 9 out of 10 star record.  Check out the track listing below.
