It was somewhat of a crazy night at the Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania as one band that has had a crazy good year was set to warm up Breaking Benjamin’s hometown, and that band was Lancaster, Pennsylvania’s own From Ashes To New, and they were electric that night!
From Ashes To New has been through some lineup changes in comparison to their previous offering, however, their performance showed that this lineup change was a good thing as they brought a very energetic set to the Bethlehem crowd. Frontman Danny Case seemed to be everywhere on the stage engaging with the crowd while he was singing, and I enjoyed the tradeoff in the vocals between him and Matt Brandyberry during the rapping parts and the singing parts. There was definitely a Linkin Park vibe to them, case in point, the crowd was electric when they did a rendition of “Papercut” by Linkin Park.
The crowd went insane with everyone singing along when they played their hit song “Crazy”. From Ashes To New left me with enough of an impression to where I would love to see them again. Here is the setlist:
The Future
My Fight
Land of Make-Believe
Crazy
My Name
Broken
Heavy/Papercut
Through It All
That was the last night for them providing direct support for Breaking Benjamin. Check out their music video to “Broken” below.
