Chicago, IL Naked Giants hit The Empty Bottle like a lightning storm Saturday, February 9th with Nashville’s Twen and Chicago’s The Evening Attraction. The night consisted of an arabesque of interwoven melodies, harmonies, and unalloyed lyrics.
The Evening Attraction shook things up with “Love so Fine”, popping the cork off for an evening of bubbling harmonies and fervent musical flavors. The guiro-strutting “All You Got Is Money” was a zesty garnish on an enticing set. Check out their single “Kill For Love,” now available on 7” vinyl and accompanied by a sultry new music video.
Twen flooded the stage with waves of reverberating, whimsical grooves. “Baptism” oscillated hypnotically, the crowd swelling like a stormy sea. Look out for their song “Damsel,” soon to be featured in a live studio recording at The Hive.
Finally, Seattle’s Naked Giants illuminated the night with an adrenaline-inducing fuzz-fest. Sizzling guitar licks heated the pan just enough to melt buttery bass lines into the ears of a toasted audience. Drummer Henry Lavallee had the crowd in the palm of his blistering hands with their electrifying song “Green Fuzz”.
Overall, the performance was magnetic and comes highly recommended as they all head to SXSW and beyond.
