Talk about being late to the party.  Except, it’s that feeling where you regret being late to the party, but at the same time, you’re glad you got there.  These are my exact thoughts after listening to “The Beast You Are” by BIG BUSINESS, which comes out this Friday via Joyful Noise Recordings.

The mindblowing thing about Big Business is that they are a TWO PIECE OUTFIT composed of Jared Warren and Coady Wills.  This two piece band takes a total wall of sound, five hits of acid, and combines that experience with this total mindtrip of awesomeness that stimulates the senses and captures imaginations in every sense of the word.

The album takes you on an odyssey with tracks such as “Abdominal Snowman”, “Heal The Weak”, and “Bright Grey”.  The tracks tell captivating stories while having you explore the odyssey that is Big Business.  This record shows off some impeccable musicianship that captivates imaginations with their uncanny ability to interweave a story into the nether regions of your mind.

The part that blew my brains out of my cranium was the track “The Moor You Know”.  In this track, Big Business allows the listener to unpack another layer of this band by creating the most grimy, sludgy, and gritty track that feels like quicksand is surrounding you and you have no choice but to drown in the quicksand.  I don’t throw this comparison around lightly, but somewhere, Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd is giving a thumbs up, with a wink and a smile over this psychedelic masterpiece.

Madness To Creation mentioned that they were late to this party.  How MTC has never listened to this band before is beyond me.  It is rare that an album stimulates my senses and makes me crave more from the band.  Big Business does that with their impeccable songwriting and the way that they take each note and each measure and make you listen intently because they have the kind of stories that captivates imaginations.  If you don’t pick up “The Beast You Are” this Friday, you are missing out on the record of the year.  Madness To Creation rates this a 10/10 stars and gives it the GOAT seal of approval.  Here is the track listing below:
