Editor’s Note: Some excitement is certainly brewing in the air in the rock music capital of the United States. First of all, Madeline Finn had a noteworthy run on a recent season of American Idol where she was a Top 70 contestant, and now after six years, Cleveland’s ENVOI is back with some new music. I can tell after sitting down with Madeline that she was ready to go with this band, and that she also learned a lot from her American Idol experience. Fans can check out Envoi’s new single entitled “The Seas” via Spotify and fans can find the band at the following locations:

Madness To Creation: Envoi is back with “The Seas”, how does it feel to be back?
Madeline: Releasing new music with ENVOI feels so so good. We’ve been broken up for about 3 years and inactive for 5 so when we had the idea to release this tune I was so pumped to get back in to the pop-rock scene. We have an incredible global fanbase and the best part is connecting with all the wonderful people we didn’t get the chance to meet way back when!
Madness To Creation: Take us into “The Seas”.
Madeline: Well, musically the tune is so well partnered with the lyrical content. It’s fast paced, emotional, and maybe even a little bit neurotic. We tried a bunch of new things, spoken word…disco beats and even some synths! Figuratively the seas is all about this inner battle with yourself. The lyrics weave in and out of different personal situations i’ve experience where I had to quite literally “calm the seas within me” to maintain sanity. I try to make lyrics malleable so that the listener can craft their own imagery but that’s my take on it!
Madness To Creation: If you could go on a cruise on one sea, where would that be?
Madeline: Most likely the North Sea! It’s between Norway, The UK and Denmark all places I’d love to spend more time!
Madness To Creation: Favorite memory competing on American Idol? What did you learn the most?
Madeline: Oh goodness. I have so many memories about idol it’s really difficult to pick my favorite. It would be really easy for me to say hugging Katy Perry or the feeling when I made it to Hollywood. But in all honestly the best memory I have from the whole thing happened a few days after my experience was over. I had been talking with a producer after I had gotten cut from the show and was obviously really upset, we said our goodbyes and I thought that was that…but I received an email the next week explaining how much of an impact I had made on the crew during my time on the show. They explained how I was a source of joy when they were having tough moments and that really warmed my heart. Regardless of how far I made it, I take a lot of pride in knowing that my presence helped make some people happy while they were doing a very taxing job!
Madness To Creation: What is next for Envoi?
Madeline: More music!
Madness To Creation: Is Drew Carey correct when he says “Cleveland Rocks”? Favorite thing about the music scene in Cleveland?
Madeline: HE IS SO RIGHT. Cleveland is the best place. I love it here so much, the best thing about the music scene in CLE is just the sheer amount of talent we have within the city limits. There are countless amazing artists and bands all calling Cleveland home.
Madness To Creation: What else would you like to add about Envoi?
Madeline: Just how thankful we are for the continued support of our fans world wide. For all the wonderful people who reach out to us daily from places like Brazil, Germany, Norway and countless other locations. We see you and we are so thankful to have you as a part of our family!!! We will continue to do our best to make music that speaks to you.
And there you have it! Stay tuned to Envoi’s socials for further information as they are back and better than ever!
