On May 17th, Australian quintet Eat Your Heart Out released their explosive record entitled “Fluorescence” for the masses.  This album tells the rest of the world to “eat their freaking hearts out” over the sheer madness that they created.  See what I did there?

I had no idea what to expect when I turned on this record, as I was completely unfamiliar with the band.  Then I heard the alternative guitar hooks along with the amazing voice that frontwoman Caitlyn Henry possesses in her vocals, and I immediately became hooked.  Case in point, the opening cut “Carousel” will have you immediately look up the lyrics and take in the words that she sings.  There is passion that gets spilled onto the canvas that is Eat Your Heart Out in this track.  The guitar hooks and the rhythm will make you fall in love easily with this band!
“Carousel” and “Spinning” have that common theme in the lyrical content.  They sing about going through the motions of life and just being stuck with nowhere to turn to.  Eat Your Heart Out wants you to carve out that new adventure for yourself.  The bridge in “Spinning” gives me the chills as Eat Your Heart Out immediately goes to new heights with their music.  “Pear Tree” leaves a somber feeling about longing for growth and contentment while “Cold Hands” shows that there is no filler in their arrangements.
If you want music that engages your senses and encourages you to step out of your comfort zone, let the band Eat Your Heart Out do that for you!  “Florescence” gets 9 out of 10 stars.  Here is the track listing:
