It is really hard for me to express this without sounding like the biggest fan girl ever, but here goes nothing.  I’ve been dying to see New Found Glory all my life and tonight was the night that I get to experience them five feet(give or take a few feet) live at the historic Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey.  They are touring in support of their latest covers album entitled “From The Screen To Your Stereo 3” via Hopeless Records.  They brought out their brand new label mates Doll Skin with them on this run!

Doll Skin is a band I’m looking forward to seeing what they have in store.  They have such amazing, sexy voices with harmony and with attitude.  Based on their stage presence and energy, it’s plain to see why Hopeless Records picked them up.  I’m looking forward to hearing more from this band in the future.  New Found Glory is next to take the stage.

With boundless energy and fun, the moment had arrived as the memorable guitar riffs and lights went off as New Found Glory took us back to the Rocky movie series with their incredible cover of “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor.  They took this already classic song, put the patented New Found Glory spin on it and got the crowd absolutely amped up.  Then they took us back to 2003 when times were innocent(relatively speaking) with their pop punk anthem “Understatement”.

New Found Glory is brilliant in every sense of the word.  They combine anthems of their hits and have the innate ability to make sure every audience member from the front to the very back is completely engaged into their performance.  They also had a three song encore with their amazing cover of “The Power of Love” by Huey Lewis & The News, and their favorites “The Story So Far” and “My Friends Over You”, which people can remember back in the day on MTV’s Total Request Live.  It is plain to see why they’ve been doing this for over 20 years.  Their energy is contagious and their songs are an epidemic, they’re so catchy.
