KISS is embarking on the “Final World Tour”, is it really a farewell tour?  It has felt empty without one of the greatest guitarists/musicians in Ace Frehley leading the charge for KISS.  Ace Frehley performed at The Paramount in Huntington, New York on July 2nd to a raucous crowd.

There is something about KISS fans that stand out from the rest.  We all know about Ace Frehley’s significant contributions to the band(I argue that he was the best in KISS along with Peter Criss), but if you’ve played a role in the KISS Army in some way, shape or form, you will receive adulation from the KISS Army fans for the rest of your life.  Ace Frehley did not disappoint.

He started out with playing some of his solo material such as “Rip It Out”, “Gimme A Feelin’ “, and “Toys”, to warm up the crowd then ripped into the KISS smash hit “Parasite”, which got the crowd in a frenzy.  You can tell that Ace Frehley showed genuine appreciation as the audience smiled and sang through his solo cuts along with the songs that he wrote for KISS.

The night felt like a party as Scot Coogan joined Ace Frehley in the smash hit “Love Gun” and Richie Scarlett chimed in on the solo hit “Breakout”.  Ace Frehley also played a tasty guitar solo to give the band a break, which definitely showed off his bluesy style of playing which he is a virtuoso at.  At the end of the day, I believe that Ace Frehley wanted KISS to be taken seriously for the music instead of a sideshow, and that certainly showed in his performance tonight at The Paramount.

Check out the setlist here as you’ll be pleased that it’s a nice balance of his solo material and KISS songs that he penned.
