Editor’s Note:  Lead vocalist Artimus Prime of Los Angeles hard rock band THE CHIMPZ sat down with Madness To Creation to discuss Rocklahoma, overcoming obstacles, their music video for “Everything Is Gone”, and mental health awareness.  The Chimpz are composed of Artimus Prime on lead vocals, Doug Weiand on guitar, Shawn Lyon on bass, and Sean “Cappy” Topham on drums.  Fans can find The Chimpz at the following locations:

Madness To Creation:  The Chimpz have released the music video for “Everything Is Gone”, take us into that video and song.

Artimus:  We filmed the video at JBL Harmon’s experience center and was able to use all their Martin lighting. We are stoked on how it came out!
The song is about going through hard times, staying strong, and beating the obstacles.

Madness To Creation:  Favorite and least favorite thing about making music videos.

Artimus:  Favorite is being able to express our selves and seeing people get joy out of our music. Least favorite is being stranded out on the road with a blown transmission. Lol!

Madness To Creation:  Tell us about your favorite and least favorite thing about your music scene!

Artimus:  Favorite is being in Los Angeles there is something going on almost every night. Least favorite is, not a lot of LA clubs are willing to pay the bands. It is pretty cutthroat out here.

Madness To Creation:  One reason and one reason only why we should go see The Chimpz in concert.

Artimus:  It’s a party!

Madness To Creation:  Favorite live performance memory of all time and least favorite memory.

Artimus: Favorite, playing at Rocklahoma and seeing someone swinging a prosthetic leg in the air.

Least favorite, driving our RV to Time Square, paying hefty street and bridge tolls, and a parking ticket to play to an audience of four.
Madness To Creation:  Our site is geared towards mental health awareness.  When you hear the words “mental health awareness”, what comes to mind?
Artimus:  We had someone that was very close to the band that was mentally ill. So we know first hand the pain and damage it does to the friends and loved ones around them.
Madness To Creation:  What gets you through tough times or what advice do you have for those that are struggling?
Artimus:  Always keep in mind that no matter how bad it is, you are probably not going to die from it. Stress doesn’t help any situations, but remaining cool is very important.
Madness To Creation:  When you need to get away from it all, what do you like to do during that time?
Artimus:  Get on my motorcycle and ride to the beach!
Madness To Creation:  What else do you want to add in regards to The Chimpz?
Artimus:  Follow The Chimpz on IG, FB, and Twitter. Listen to us on Spotify. See all our videos on YouTube!
Madness To Creation:  Thank you very much for your time to interview with me for Madness To Creation.

Artimus: Thanks so much for having The Chimpz!

Special shout to our publicist Yvonne’s World!
