It was a night of nostalgia for 80’s New Wave/Post Punk as legendary groups The Alarm and Modern English took the stage.  People certainly danced, sang along and had a good time at The Paramount in Huntington, New York on August 23rd.  Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel joined the ruckus on this night.

Out of England, Modern English is composed of Robbie Grey on vocals, Gary McDowell on guitars/vocals, Mick Conroy on bass/vocals, Stephen Walker on keyboards and Roy Martin on drums.  They brought their hits to The Paramount as the audience sang along to songs such as “I Melt With You” and “Hands Across The Sea”.  They certainly got the crowd ready for The Alarm!

The Alarm, out of the United Kingdom, also brought their hits to The Paramount.  They do such an impeccable job of mixing garage punk with new wave as well.  Who can forget their hits such as “Strength”, “68 Guns”,  and their biggest U.S. hit “Sold Me Down The River”.  Their songs make people think and rock out at the same time!
