It was a crazy and wild night at The Paramount in Huntington, New York as In This Moment with special guests Motionless In White, New Years Day, Ded, and Little Miss Nasty took The Paramount stage.  It was a barnburner both figuratively and literally as fire alarms blared in the venue and the fire marshal was even at the show!

Little Miss Nasty kicked off the night with their goth, burlesque show.  Basically, it’s a choreographed burlesque show that shows empowered women doing their thing in a very provocative way to the songs that we know and love.

Ded was the next band to take the stage.  They teased some new songs off of their upcoming album and the crowd seemed to respond favorably especially to their smash hit “Anti-Everything”.  They kept the crowd going with their raucous energy.

New Years Day definitely warmed up the crowd with their on-stage antics and Ash Costello’s sexual energy.  She knows she’s hot, she has to know.  They ripped through songs such as “Kill Or Be Killed”, and the crowd went crazy for their smash hit “Shut Up”, and they responded well to their latest music video “Come For Me”.

Motionless In White brought their raucous stage presence and seemed to be the perfect band to fit into a bill that is called “Mother’s House of Horror”.  They adorned the stage with things that go bump in the night, and Chris Motionless has an energy about him that seems to get the crowd to pay attention and notice.

During In This Moment’s set is where all the strange things happened.  The crowd was on the edge of their seat for Maria Brink and company to hit the stage.  In This Moment has really evolved over the years from being a metal band to a band that is willing to push the envelope with their music and in people’s thought processes, along with bringing theatrics to the show.  An In This Moment show definitely has Maria Brink front and center with the band serving as the background.  The stage was adorned with jack-o-lanterns and other house of horror props.  I dug the backup dancers as they added to the performance as well.  After the “Salvation” intro, they broke into a unique cover of “Fly Like An Eagle” by Steve Miller Band, then after “River of Fire” and “Adrenalize”, they broke into “Natural Born Sinner” and it seemed like right on queue, the fire alarms went off due to all the smoke from the fog machines, and the show got delayed for a substantial amount of time.  Maria came out and talked to the audience for a good ten minutes, and due to venue curfew, they could only play two more songs which were “Big Bad Wolf” and their classic “Whore”.  The crowd wanted more of In This Moment.  Sometimes things are out of a band’s control.  Everyone at the venue handled the situation professionally, and although the crowd was disappointed in the circumstances, they would certainly come back to see In This Moment.
