It was a night of scrambling as I was covering two shows in one night in Pittsburgh.  Covering the almighty Tool at PPG Paints Arena, shot the song and then scrambled over to Mr. Small’s where The Devil Wears Prada with special guests Norma Jean and Gideon were taking the stage at the packed bar in Pittsburgh.

I was hyped to do this.  Got there in time for The Devil Wears Prada’s set.  While I was doing the photography, fans proceeded to have me crowdsurf as they went into the track off of “The Act” entitled “Switchblade”.  I absolutely dig that song as it showcased The Devil Wears Prada as going in a different direction in their music.  The crowd was hyped as fuck for this song and from what the audience told me that Norma Jean and Gideon both did a phenomenal job of warming up the crowd for The Devil Wears Prada.

They went into the classic song “Danger: Wildman” off of their landmark album “With Roots Above and Branches Below”.  There was virtually no separation between frontman Mike Hranica and the audience for this one as they became one as Mike screamed the song from the depths of his soul.  Off of that album, they pleased the masses with the songs “Dez Moines” and “Assistant To The Regional Manager”.

They did a unique cover of “All My Life” by Foo Fighters before closing it off with “Hey John, What’s Your Name Again”, which got the craziest stagediving and circle pits going I’ve ever seen at Mr. Small’s Theatre.  The audience was satisfied as The Devil Wears Prada delivered yet again! Here is the setlist:

  2.  Danger: Wildman
  3.  Worldwide
  4.  Lines of your Hands
