Editor’s Note:  Welcome to the 17th edition of Weekend Brunch Edition Weekly News and Spotify Playlist via Madness To Creation!  It’s the middle of February already and we are itching for spring as well as for some new music!  As we have been crazy busy with our work weeks, we are celebrating the weekend!  We crack open some eggs, fry up some steak, and enjoy some brunch.  But wait, we missed out some music news and you might be wanting some new music to check out!  Well, Madness To Creation is your hookup, holler if you hear us!  #SorryScottSteiner  So, after you put away the Halloween decorations, sit back and relax and enjoy this weekly Spotify playlist. It is broken down into the following categories:

  1.  Meat & Taters:  This is where the heavy hitters come in to play.  The main course if you will.  Chances are you’ve heard of this group.
  2.  Light & Fluffy:  This is where a band/artist might come off on the lighter side of music.  Where you might have a potato pancake with the glass of OJ.
  3.  Tailgate:  Because you can’t wait til lunch or supper so these bands/artists get you in the mood to tailgate and party over brunch.
  4.  On The Side:  These bands/artists are brand new(well to us anyways) and you might put a little on the saucer to give it a try before diving into the meat & taters!

Meat & Taters

    1.  The Frogs released their single “The Business Man(8th Day)” via The A.V. Club.  They are joining forces with Evan Dando of The Lemonheads for their tour that continues tonight in Seattle and wraps up February 22nd in Las Vegas.
    2.  Japanese all-female power metal band Lovebites premiered their single “Signs of Deliverance” via Heavy Consequence.  “Electric Pentagram” is out April 24th via Red River Entertainment.  
    3. Hip-hop artist Megan Thee Stallion performed “B.I.T.C.H.” last night on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.  Fans can check out the performance here
    4. Hatebreed announced that they will be performing the 12th annual LAUNCH Music Conference in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on May 2nd.  They also released their first single in four years entitled “When The Blade Drops”. Fans can check it out here
    5. Australia indie/funk act Ocean Alley released their video for “Tombstone”.  Fans can check out the video here
    6. Christian rockers Red released “All For You”.  They are in the midst of being the rock band on this year’s Winterjam tour.  “Declaration” will be out April 10th.  
    7. Me And That Man, featuring Nergal of Behemoth” featured Ihsahn for latest music video “By The River”.  “New Man, New Songs, Same Shit Vol. 1” will be released via Napalm Records.  
    8. tetema which features Mike Patton and Anthony Pateras released the music video for “Wait Till Mornin’”.  Fans can check out the video here and “Necroscape” is due out April 3rd via Ipecac Recordings.  
    9. Polaris released the music video for “Landmine”.  Fans can check out the video here and “The Death of Me” is due out February 21st via Sharptone Records.  
    10. Asking Alexandria released the music video for “They Don’t Want What We Want(And They Don’t Care).  They will be touring with Falling In Reverse, Wage War and Hyro The Hero.  The tour kicks off April 30th in Phoenix and wraps up May 31st in Minneapolis.
    11. New Hope Club released their self-titled debut album.  Fans can check out the acoustic version of their single “Let Me Down Slow” here.
    12. Pop star Sabrina Carpenter released her single entitled “Hollywood Fades”.  Fans can check out the single on all streaming platforms here
    13. Tini Stoessel is on the front cover of InStyle Mexico Magazine.  Fans can check out her smash video “Recuerdo” here, which features Mau y Ricky.  
    14. Korean pop group Monsta X released their full-English debut album “All About Luv”.  They celebrated by performing on top of Tower Records on the Sunset Strip. Check out the music video for “Middle of the Night” here
    15. The Homeless Gospel Choir will be releasing “This Land Is Your Landfill” on April 24th via A-F Records.  Fans can check out the video for “Young and in Love” here
    16. Metal legends Machine Head released the music video for “Circle The Drain”.  Fans can check out the single here
    17. Icons Def Leppard will be embarking on the “20/20 Vision” tour with ZZTop.  The tour kicks off on September 21st in Albany and wraps up October 18th in Spokane. Tickets go on sale via Live Nation on February 21st.

 

Light & Fluffy

    1.  He Is We released their first single in 2018 entitled “Amazing Grace”.  Fans can check out the single here.
    2. Paper Idol announces “The Fantastic Tour”.  The indie/electronic artist will kick the tour off February 28th in San Francisco and wrap the tour up March 7th in Reno.  Fans can check out the single “I’m Fantastic” here via Under The Radar.
    3.  Heart Bones released a surprise single on Valentine’s Day entitled “I Like Your Way”.  They will be releasing “Hot Dish” this Friday, they will be touring starting February 28th in Milwaukee before wrapping up the tour April 20th in Austin.  
    4.  Nashville singer/songwriter Ellen Starski released her single “Pure Intention”.  Fans can check out her album “Sara’s Half Finished Love Affair” on May 8th. 
    5.  Brooklyn multi-instrumentalist Hayfitz premiered his new single “Daylight” via Northern Transmissions.  Fans can check out the single here and Hayfitz will be performing at SXSW.
    6. Bradley Arthur Maxwell premiered single “No Wonder Why” via Variance Magazine.  Fans can check out the single here
    7. William Wild released the video “Holy Ghost(where did my life go?)” yesterday.  His debut album “Push Ups” is due out March 20th. 
    8. U.K. singer/songwriter Robert Vincent has released the album “In This Town You’re Owned” on Valentine’s Day.  Fans can check out the music video for “Conundrum” here
    9. Tyson Motsenbocker has released his latest album entitled “Someday I’ll Make It All Up To You” via Tooth & Nail Records.  He is providing support for Colony House, which continues tonight in Carrboro, North Carolina and wraps up March 28th in Waco, Texas.

 

Tailgating:

    1.  Set It Off releases their second B-side single entitled “One Single Second”.  Check it out here and they will be performing with Capstan tonight at The Rec Room in Calgary.
    2.  Sleep On It releases new single entitled “Falling Further Faster”.  Fans can check out the single here and they will be headlining “The Pride & Disastour”, which kicks off February 28th in Toronto and the tour wraps up March 29th in Chicago.
    3. Alternative pop/rock duo Calloway Circus released their debut album “Entropy”.  Fans can check out the album here
    4. Atlanta glam rockers Starbenders released their album “Love Potions”.  Fans can check out the music video for “London” here
    5. Lena Scissorhands of Infected Rain unleashed her cover of “All The Things She Said” by t.a.t.u. It features guest vocals by Nika Comet of Chase The Comet.  Fans can check out the video here
    6. BRKN Love premiered the music video for “Flies In The Honey” via UDiscover.  Their self-titled debut album is out now. 
    7. Boston hardcore band Great American Ghost released their album “Power Through Terror” yesterday.  Fans can check out the video for “Prison of Hate” here

    1.  New York emo-rockers Live Well released their 2-song EP “Winter Jawn”.  They will be performing at SXSW this year. 
    2.  Italy’s The Destroying Laser released their debut album entitled “Oracle” via Rockshots Records.  Fans can check out the video for “Another You” here
    3. Kerrang! Magazine premieres the EP “The Repair” by Vista.  Vista blends pop, rock and gothic vibes into their music.
    4. New York hard rockers Another Day’s Armor released their music video for “Underneath”.  Fans can check out the video here
    5. KB & The Idyllwilde released their debut EP “I Just Wanna Love You, I Just Wanna Let You” yesterday.  They celebrated with an EP release show in Nashville yesterday. Fans can check out the EP here
    6. Australian rockers Violent Soho have signed with Pure Noise Records.  They’ve released the video for “Lying On The Floor”.  
    7. Bay area instrumental rockers Unconditional Arms released their single “You’re Just As Desperate”.  “Formation” is due out April 3rd via Sell The Heart Records.  
    8. German punk-trio The Deadnotes released their album “Courage” via 22Lives Records.  Fans can check out the stream here
    9. Kidbug released the music video for “Good Inside” yesterday.  Kidbug is composed of members of Dumb Numbers, Eerie Wanda, Best Coast and Swans.
    10. Canadian black metal/thrash one-man band Maudiir released “Le Temps Peste” via Bandcamp.  Fans can check it out here. 
    11. Finnish death metal band Torchia released “Memoirs”.  “The Coven” is due out March 27th via Rockshots Records.

    13. Kansas City metal band Orphans of Doom released their guitar playthrough for “Viper Diaper” via Ultimate Guitar.  “II” is due out February 28th via The Company. Fans can check out the video here
    14. Greece’s Puta Volcano have released their music video for “Black Box”.  Fans can check out the video here and “AMMA” is due out March 13th.

    16. Omaha glam-rock band The Midnight Devils released the music video for “Pink Halo”.  Fans can check out the video here and their album “Something Bigger” is out now.  They will be embarking on a tour with The Quireboys beginning March 17th in St. Peters, Missouri and the tour will wrap up March 28th in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
    17. Vancouver pop-punk band Chief State announced upcoming release for “Tough Love” for March 27th via Mutant League Records.  They have released a music video for “Reprise”, which fans can check out here
