It’s such a difficult time right now for so many during this quarantine period of isolation – rock band DED’s message of hope, self-care and the importance of being aware of how we look after each other and how our behavior affects not only our own mental health but each other is something we feel is needed now probably more than ever before as we are in such an isolating and unprecedented time. The song has been making some early waves at active rock radio and Spotify/DSPs. Led by front man Joe CotelaDED – one of rock’s most promising newcomers- is driven by a compassion for humanity and a consciousness that we can all be and do better. The band believes that change starts with us as individuals and is building a community by offering comfort in times of despair, positivity by exposing negativity, and clarity through suffering.

“A Mannequin Idol (Lullaby)” is the band’s first thought-provoking statement from their forthcoming album. The song questions what we consume and what we support – takiing on the fake, surface level, vein aspects of our society that influence our perception of what’s real. DED recently released their two-song micro EP, Mannequin Eyes which features “A Mannequin Idol (Lullaby)” along with a second song, “Eyes Sewn Shut” both helmed by powerhouse rock producer Kevin Churko (Five Finger Death Punch, Ozzy Osbourne, Disturbed). DED may seem like nihilistic hellraising anarchists upon first glance, but they’re actually here to uplift, empower and contribute something positive to the world. The track was the most added song of the week at Music Choice upon release last month and is currently climbing into the Top 30 at Mediabase’s Active Rock Chart with key support across Spotify, Amazon Music, SiriusXM Octane and HardDrive XL.
