Contributor’s Note: Mark Vikingstad, Michael Boris and Kyndon Oakes of Lockeland joined The Don and The Grizz on the 119th Episode of The Don’s Hit List Podcast to go over the goosebump moments in their music. Lockeland brings back the amazing melodic music with beautiful harmonies that we loved in the 90’s from bands like Little Texas.
We also shared laughs as The Don does a mean John Travolta impression. In their travels out of Music City, Tennessee, the trio met in the middle to “lock the lands” and thus Lockeland was formed. What brings these friends together is the love of life, humor and the mutual passion to create music that recalls pages from the past and capture memorable moments of the here and now. Lockeland is straight up contemporary country with a throwback twist, the trio’s blend of talents complement one another naturally and instinctively. The group’s polished, easy-does-it dynamics, and intricate three-part harmonies and simplistic meaningful storylines are its signature. Their debut single “Til The Cows Come Home” landed in the Top 40 on MusicRow Country Breakout Chart, and appeared on the Breakout Stage of CMA Fest 2019, and they’ve opened for Big & Rich twice. They’ve also shared the stage with CAM, Kip Moore, Josh Turner, LANCO, Morgan Evans and Logan Mize. Fans can find Lockeland at the following locations:
