Madness To Creation Sounding Off: Never Forgetting Warped Tour Because of Amazing Vocalists, like Ashley Costello of New Years Day!

The second part of the "Looking Back on Warped Tour" series features New Years Day and Ashley Costello.  It is absolutely not every day where a frontperson simply captivates one's attention through their stage presence and vocals.  Ashley Costello of New Years Day certainly did that with her mesmerizing stage presence and her amazingly beautiful looks along with a versatile voice that sounded sweet and serene in one breath, and sounded shrilling in the next breath.  New Years Day had a crazy stage presence combining their gothic look, crazy stage antics, and the ability to hold the audience in the palm of their hand. I also saw New Years Day open up for Halestorm and Starset on the "Halloween Scream" tour, and while I was into them, some of the audience weren't into them, then again Iowa ...

Madness To Creation Sounding Off: Looking Back at 2017 Warped Tour Part One: Featuring Hatebreed!

The old tried and true saying goes is that "all good things must come to an end".  It was recently announced that after 2018, Kevin Lyman was going to discontinue the Warped Tour.  My heart sank into my stomach after I read the news on Alternative Press.  The thing is, the Vans Warped Tour was the festival of all festivals to me.  It allowed fans to check out many different genres of music, heck pop singers such as Katy Perry and hip-hop artists such as 3OH!3 were embraced at the Warped Tour.  The Vans Warped Tour had a sense of unity there where it didn't matter what style of music, what background you were, or even what political or religious belief you had, you were accepted simply for who you are.  I am pretty sure that was what Kevin's vision was.  I am going to make this a several pa...

Madness To Creation Sounding Off: Top 5 Favorite Malcolm Young Riffs

Editor's Note:  In order to appropriately remember the passing of founding AC/DC member/guitarist Malcolm Young, we must remember him as we should in the music industry, and that is by remembering him for what he did best, and that was be the driving force of AC/DC.  He created such memorable riffs.  If one were to turn on the radio, you immediately knew that AC/DC was coming on because of the three chords, and it was just pure and total rock.  Here are my memorable riffs and moments of Malcolm Young:  Incorporating bagpipes with the thunderous riffs of "It's A Long Way To The Top(If You Want To Rock And Roll)".  The bagpipes were such a unique touch to the three chords of this early Bon Scott-era rock anthem of AC/DC.  Check  it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sUXMzkh-jI 2.  My ...

Sounding Off: Madness To Creation Remembers the Life of AC/DC Founder Malcolm Young

It has been reported that esteemed guitarist and AC/DC founder Malcolm Young lost his battle with dementia at the age of 64.  Malcolm has been described as the driving force and the leader of AC/DC. Malcolm retired in 2014 due to dementia.  Malcolm drew his influences on blues guitar and establishing rhythm on his guitar from the likes of Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly.  Before his death, his brother Angus Young reported that in 2010 during the "Black Ice" album and subsequent tour that Malcolm was experiencing memory lapses and had a terrible time concentrating and that he would be constantly rehearsing AC/DC songs just so he could remember them. Madness To Creation considers Malcolm Young as one of the greatest rhythm guitars in rock history.  You knew from the three chords how distinct e...

Madness To Creation Sounding Off: The Real Threat In Our Society: The Lack of Discussion About Mental Health Awareness

I wanted to write about a cause that is absolutely near and dear to my heart, and that issue is mental health awareness.  Studies have shown that nearly ten million Americans per year(in America alone) go through a debilitating mental health issue enough to where it prevents them from doing life activites, which consists of mainly work or it can be too depressed to even get out of bed.  70% of juveniles in the justice system(including residential treatment facilities, youth shelters and state training programs) have been diagnosed with some mental illness.  22 veterans per day commit suicide EVERY DAY!  Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death in the US for people aged 15 to 24 and the third leading cause of death for people aged 10 to 14.  Suicide rates are four times more likely for s...
