(Behind The Yearbook: Scholastic Perspectives Podcast Ep. 2 Seasons 36): WE TALK TO MYLES KENNEDY!

Contributor's Note:  Scottie Brown talks to THE MYLES KENNEDY on the Scholastic Perspectives Podcast(formerly known as Madness To Creation) about "Ides of March", which was released awhile back via Napalm Records.  Scottie and Myles talks about mental health and the nuances behind the creative process of "Ides of March" and Myles was absolutely vulnerable in talking about mental health through the pandemic and life balance.  "The Ides of March" reached numerous Billboard chart positions including #1 in Current Hard Music in the United States, #1 Official Rock & Metal Albums in the United Kingdom, #1 Official Independent Album Chart in the U.K. and #1 Hard Music Album in Canada.  The album includes "In Stride" and the pensive ballad "Love Rain Down."  Myles puts in incredible solo w...

(Behind The Yearbook Podcast Season 2 Ep. 35): Sarah McTaggart of TRANSVIOLET

Editor's Note:  Welcome to the rebranding of what is now Scholastic Perspectives!  The reason for the rebranding, to combine education, mental health and my love for the music business all under one umbrella.  I felt Madness To Creation was getting stagnant and I wasn't feeling it, now I'm feeling this and welcoming this change.  As educators and podcasters, or whatever it is we are doing in our craft, we need to adapt to change and sail with the winds of change instead of spitting against the winds of change.  I have on a friend of mine and quite honestly one of my favorite people in the biz in vocalist Sarah McTaggart of the amazing band Transviolet for Beyond The Yearbook, a Scholastic Perspectives Podcast.  We talked about EVERYTHING in this podcast.  We talked about religion, talk...

(Madness To Creation Podcast Season 2 Ep. 33): Viral TikTok Hip-Hop Artist COWBOY MUGSHOT

Editor's Note:  We brought on an artist that has gone viral on TikTok, mostly for his Taco Bell prank, but he's well on his way to becoming a viral sensation on TikTok and Instagram.  This artist is Cowboy Mugshot.  Cowboy Mugshot really opened up as we got going on the Madness To Creation Podcast, talking about his anxiety, to creating content and how image and his music worked hand-in-hand in his content creation on TikTok and Instagram, along with crazy stories growing up with a father, who happened to be a very famous record producer, and his singles and music videos for "Blow" and "Magazine."  Cowboy Mugshot also shared some cool stories about Post Malone and Billie Eilish.  I found Cowboy Mugshot to be such a gentle presence who is creating a larger than life persona.  Fans can f...

(Mental Health Conversations): Matt Mucerino of CROSSING I’S DOTTING T’S

Editor's Note:  Matt Mucerino of Crossing I's Dotting T's converses with Madness To Creation to talk about mental health, music and their latest EP.  Crossing I's Dotting T's, out of Costa Mesa, California, recently released their EP, which is one of the most heartfelt EP's I've heard in quite sometime.  Their self-titled EP was inspired by Matt losing his cousin/best friend to cancer at the age of 21.  Their song "See You At Your Funeral" is specifically about his cousin/best friend, while the other songs touch on mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and not feeling wanted.  This EP is a wonderful listen as it mixes the 90's power rock along with the 2000's brand of post-hardcore/emo, and I see Crossing I's Dotting T's doing very well for themselves in the future.  Fans can fi...

(Mental Health Breakthroughs): MARTINA ARMOUR + “What It Feels Like” EP Review

Editor's Note:  When legendary drummer Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac gives you his seal of approval on your rendition of their song "Storms", you're a special artist.  This is exactly Martina Armour. This Los Angeles folk/pop singer-songwriter with Swedish roots reached out to us for a premiere.  Sadly, the editor wasn't able to deliver as he was going through some mental health struggles, but thankfully he's back in the saddle, and ready to deliver some content once again!  While our slogan is #YouFreakingMatter, I need to take that to heart as well.  Sometimes, we feel sad and inadequate, and not worthy of anything.  I regrouped, feel completely refreshed and here I have an exclusive interview with this incredible artist named Martina Armour and "What It Feels Like" EP Review for you f...
