Terry Ilous Discusses “Gypsy Dreams” with Madness To Creation!

Editor's Note:  It was a great conversation to chat with arguably one of the most underrated vocalists of the 1980's.  In my view, XYZ flew under the radar in terms of being popular in the 1980's metal scene.  XYZ was great and highly underrated because of their musicianship and the impeccable vocals of Terry Ilous.  Terry Ilous is a musician first when it comes to his singing.  He recently released a cover album entitled "Gypsy Dreams", which gives a snapshot of his influences throughout his career as a vocalist, and it shows why he's helping to be the flagbearer for legendary 80's metal band Great White to this day!  I am hoping to continue the conversation with Terry in regards to Great White's upcoming release, which is due out this June.  In the meantime, please go pick up a copy of "...

Trevor Jones, bassist for Molehill, discusses Euromaidan Protests and “Hearts On Fire” with Madness To Creation!

Editor's Note:  The progressive indie-rock band Molehill will be releasing their new EP Hearts On Fire on May 12th and I wanted to see if you'd be interested in an interview with the group. Their first single, the title track, is inspired by the "Euromaidan" protests in the Ukraine (the birthplace of vocalist Pete Manhart's mother). You can see the Clockwork Orange-esque music video here. The second single "Reverie" (streaming here) tells the story of losing someone, but being thankful for the impact they had on you. Both tracks make use of organic and synth elements, held together by Manhart's emotional, baritone vocals. They create a sound that fans of Muse, The National, Depeche Mode and Nothing But Thieves may enjoy. The quartet completed some gigs at SXSW last month and are c...

Courage My Love Discusses Anything and Everything with Madness To Creation!

Editor's Note:  This is where I need to start having video conversations moving forward.  I feel like this conversation piece with Kitchener's own Courage My Love simply isn't going to do justice to how amazing this really was.  They are three amazing people that could possibly be the most down to Earth people I have ever had the pleasure of having a conversation with.  It seems like every topic under the sun is covered.  Three awesome souls that are super genuine people that love and care about people!  I can't thank them enough for their hospitality!  Without further delay, here is my conversation with Mercedes Arn-Horn, Phoenix Arn-Horn, and Brandon Lockwood, who make up Courage My Love.  Find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/ilovecouragemylove and at their official website at www.i...

Throw The Fight Discusses “Transmissions”, “Randy Savage”, and “Cover Songs” with Madness To Creation!

Editor's Note:  It was a glorious night of music from the Minneapolis hard rock scene.  If you're not from the Midwest, you simply won't understand.  I would honestly put up the Minneapolis hard rock scene against any scene in North America.  Throw The Fight is currently the flagship band out of Minneapolis!  Last year, they have released "Transmissions" via Bullet Tooth Records, and they are awaiting to capitalize on the continued success of "Transmissions".  They are currently receiving rave reviews of their single entitled "Bury Me Alive".  Go to Sirius XM to request that single!  This was a super fun time with this band!  I hope this interview conveys that super fun time!  I interviewed Throw The Fight before their headlining set at the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  ...

Talking Music and Wrestling: Madness To Creation Converses with John Bee of American Opera!

Editor's Note:  It was an interesting night of music that kind of took me out of my comfort zone.  It was a dinner show type of evening where people were having steak dinners while listening to American Opera and Carter Hulsey swap songs at The Whiskey House Bar & Grill in Ankeny, Iowa.  It was a relaxing night of music, yet both John Bee of American Opera and Carter Hulsey provided contrasting styles to that evening's performance!  In this conversation, you will get to hear about his signing with Spartan Records, his upcoming record entitled "Small Victories", and pro wrestling.  Without further delay, here's Madness To Creation's conversation with John Bee of American Opera! M.T.C.:  Nice set up there with you and Carter! American Opera:  Thanks dude, I appreciate it! M.T.C....

Austin Thompson of The Way Down Wanderers Discusses “RustStomps” and Making Music with Madness To Creation!

Editor's Note:  It was a time where I kind of got out of my comfort zone.  It isn't everyday that I get to talk to a band that is known for indie/bluegrass.  Don't get me wrong, The Way Down Wanderers, out of Peoria, Illinois, are known for incorporating many styles of music into their repertoire!  Austin Thompson discusses having intimate music sessions with him and his band at various rest stops and their self-titled album, which was released in 2016.  Please check out The Way Down Wanderers on Facebook at www.facebook.com/waydownwanderers and at their official website at www.thewaydownwanderers.com!  Without further delay, here is my conversation with Austin Thompson, vocalist/musician extraordinaire for The Way Down Wanderers. M.T.C.:  Is this Austin? Austin:  Yes, you must be M....

Ben Lionetti, guitarist of Lakeshore, discusses “41” with Madness To Creation!

Editor's Note:  Out of Connecticut comes a band that wanted that fresh, creative start.  Sometimes taking the road that is less traveled and turning over a new leaf in life is what a band or an individual needs in order to rediscover themselves from a creative standpoint.  Sometimes the best paintings and the best sculptures are pushed off to the side for awhile, while the artist lets it sit until the artist gets inspired to mold that sculpture or to utilize brushstrokes to create that masterpiece.  Coming up, Lakeshore will be releasing their debut EP entitled "41".  I want to personally thank them for taking a few minutes out of their busy schedules to speak with me about "41".  Please find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/41Lakeshore and check out their official website at www.Lakes...

Musician’s Musings: Richie Kotzen Discusses “Salting Earth” with Madness To Creation!

Contributor's Note:  It was a great conversation with this guitar virtuoso who is currently riding a serious wave of momentum and success with the trio supergroup, The Winery Dogs, and is translating that success into his 21st solo album entitled "Salting Earth", which is slated for release on April 14th.  Richie Kotzen will also be touring to promote "Salting Earth".  In this interview, you will get to experience the methods and the madness to what goes behind the creation of a Richie Kotzen song and album.  Check Richie Kotzen out on Facebook at www.facebook.com/richiekotzen.  Without further delay, here's my conversation with Richie Kotzen.  *Note*  You will find the complete interview with the magazine I write for at MUEN Magazine! www.muenmagazine.net!  Matty:  I want to thank you ...

Ryan Kirby, Vocalist of Fit for a King, discusses Christianity, “Dead Memory” and The Paris Attacks

Contributor's Note:  It was a cold blustery night in Des Moines and I was not feeling good while battling the flu.  Ryan was absolutely a kind, gracious person in this interview, and I really appreciate him taking the time with me to discuss God, Fit for a King, that fateful night in Paris, and "Deathgrip", along with other fun topics.  Check out Fit for a King on Facebook at www.facebook.com/fitforakingband and www.twitter.com/fitforaking and follow them on Instagram at www.instagram.com/fitforakingtx.  Go to their official website at www.fitforaking.com to pick up a copy of "Deathgrip" via Solid State Records.  Without further delay, here's my conversation with Ryan Kirby, vocalist for Fit for a King! Madness To Creation:  Tell me who you are and what you do in the band. Ryan:  I am ...
