(Livestream Review) “Marching In Time” by TREMONTI (9/24/2021)

Marching In Time by Tremonti is by far one of the best albums that has been released this year and now is looking to take best live stream of the year. To celebrate the release of their latest album, fans were treated to a live stream that highlighted the brand-new album while also paying homage to the past albums that the band has released. This was a juggernaut of a setlist at an amazingly valued price. Tremonti started the stream of with the intro song of their first album “A World Away” and from that moment, everyone was extremely aware that the band had passion in these new songs. Tremonti sounded so great that one would have to ask, “have they played these songs before”? Everyone involved in this stream took great care, from the camera work all the way to the musicians themselves....

(Album Review) “Marching in Time” by TREMONTI

Being a staple in the music industry for over two decades is legendary status, but maintaining a constant flow of fresh ideas in art for that long is a different story. However, Tremonti makes that task look easy with their most recent album, Marching in Time. As usual the band brings something fresh while staying in line with the things that original fans can attach themselves to. From beginning to end it’s a masterpiece that was very much needed. “A World Away” is the song that starts the album off in a giant way with immediate chugs and drums that could get anyone excited. As the song progress, the realization is that we are in for something very different than the previous album A Dying Machine. Tremonti has this unique talent to blend heavy and chunky together with an absolute catc...

(Concert Review) ALTER BRIDGE with CLINT LOWERY live at The Apollo Theatre in Belvidere, Illinois (2/14/2020)

It was a chilly Valentine's Day evening in Belvidere, Illinois as Alter Bridge's Walk the Sky 2020 tour came through. Both couples and groups of singles made it their destination for the holiday evening, as the balcony was completely sold out, and with very little room to spare in the standing room only general admission section.   Rock group Deepfall opened up the evening's festivities. They had passed through the Apollo Theatre AC just months before, as the opening act on Hellyeah's latest tour. They played a similar group of songs, with their cover of Journey's "Separate Ways" being the crowd attention grabber of the set.   Up next was Clint Lowery, who, known primarily as the guitarist of metal band Sevendust, has been involved with numerous other side projects where ...

(Album Review) “God Bless The Renegades” by CLINT LOWERY

On January 31st, Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery launches his solo debut album God Bless The Renegades.  The album is a ten-track masterpiece and is a result of a career-long process Lowery always wanted to see produced.  He dug into this work throughout 2019 and is now finally ready to release the milestone of his career. “Putting this under my name was a big decision.  There’s an empowerment to it; I’m glad I did it, because it’s me,” Lowery states through the press release announcing this album.  Many fans will already be familiar with some work as the debut single “Kings” was released November 1st and then the title track “God Bless the Renegades” followed three weeks later.  Often when members of famous bands try breaking out on their own, the solo work sounds like an extension of...

The Musician’s Tribune Vol. 34: “My Personal Spotify Playlist” by AWAITING ELI

Editor's Note: Omaha-based Awaiting Eli, is an outstanding, diverse radio rock band comprised of multi-talented individuals whose passion and dedication to perfect their craft  becomes evident in the music they impart. The band announces their new single, “Unfiltered” from their upcoming album Home, due out later this year. They have already attracted multiple radio stations for airplay, including  89.7 The River, The Cutting Edge of Rock, The Edge 92.9 Radio Station, OKC's Rock Alternative Radio Station, KJAG Radio and Jiggy Jaguar Show.   Awaiting Eli serves its name well. Eli is a Hebrew word meaning “height.” To this band, Awaiting Eli’s name functions as a motivation to take their music to a greater height. They are always pushing themselves to consistently grow in their craft, ...

(Concert Review) GODSMACK Live at O2 Ritz in Manchester, England (2/28/2019)

This was the rescheduled tour after a close personal tragedy last year caused a cancellation of the UK leg of Godsmack's tour. The band have released their recent album "When Legends Rise" last year; so it was this release that they would be primarily supporting with these shows. Just the one band supporting and it would be Antipodean rock band "Like A Storm", who I was fortunate enough to catch live a few years ago in Manchester Arena as one of several supports to Alter Bridge.  Early sightings of the stage showed that the band had brought a few props in order to add to the fans' visual enjoyment of their performance.  I think that many people had also caught them previously live as unusually for a show in the Ritz it was quickly packed early doors almost to capacity ahead of the openers ...

Not a Secret For Long…Fernetti of Madness To Creation Gets Acquainted with Best Kept Secret!

One of the many good things about attending local shows is the element of surprise.  I was recently attending a show in Keokuk, Iowa that featured Five Fold and one of the opening bands was Best Kept Secret.  “Who is that?” I wondered aloud to another patron; well, after only a few songs, “Who is that?” quickly turned into “Man!  I’ve got to get to know these guys!” Best Kept Secret is based out of Hannibal, Missouri and plays many venues in the Tri-States area of Northeast Missouri/Southeast Iowa/West Central Illinois.  The band is comprised of Andy Kaden on lead vocals, Jeff Hendrix on drums, Robbie Albright and Chris Thacker on guitar, and Warren Riley on bass. I recently had a chance to meet these guys and gather some thoughts on their current lineup, influences, and what we can e...
