(Concert Therapy Reviews): COLD Live at Underbelly in Jacksonville, Florida (9/25/2021)

It was a beautiful September night in Jacksonville, Florida and people were craving some live music. Cold delivered just that with an amazing set of new songs from the latest album The Things We Can’t Stop as well as several hits that highlight the bands two-decade career. This was a special moment for the band because it was their first hometown show since July of 2015. As the band took the stage, the excitement can be felt as the band comes out while playing an extended intro to the song “Back Home” which is the beginning track of “A Different Kind of Pain”( a little ironic as well since they were “back home”). Scooter Ward, the band’s singer and founding member takes the stage, everyone begins singing every word. He is excited to be home and the audience shares the same energy. Throu...

Dakota Sean of ANOTHER DAY DAWNS Discusses “A Different Life” and Coping with Covid-19 Pandemic with Mark Dean of Madness To Creation

Editor's Note:  Another Day Dawns has been around for ten years.  They formed in 2010 out of Lehighton, Pennsylvania and have established a name for themselves along the Northeast and East Coast of the United States.  They do this with a hard working, take no prisoners attitude and this has earned them privilege spots to be opening for bands such as Hinder, Cold, Issues and Buckcherry.  In this interview with Mark Dean of Madness To Creation, Dakota Sean of Another Day Dawns discusses coping with the Covid-19 pandemic, their EP entitled "A Different Life", along with a smattering of fun questions including "first song they performed live", "what song would you want played at your funeral" and so much more.  Fans can find Another Day Dawns at the following locations: https://www.anotherd...

(Concert Review) COLD with special guest AWAKE FOR DAYS Live at The Apollo Theater in Belvidere, Illinois (10/16/2019)

The show kicked off with local metal band Silence is Broken, who received good support from the small crowd of early arrivals. Near the end of the set, the singer led the crowd in chants of "F*ck cancer," before singing a song dedicated to his terminally ill mother.   Scranton, Pennsylvania act University Drive took to the stage next. It became immediately clear that their style was not similar to their immediate predecessor in the lineup. The indie rock didn't seem to catch on with the crowd that was clearly hungry for something heavier. The group still delivered an energetic performance, and much of the crowd returned as the set went on. The group closed their set with a Foo Fighters cover. It was later stated that Cold had invited University Drive to perform with them on thei...

(Album Review) “The Things We Can’t Stop” by COLD

Contributor’s Note: I have been a Cold fan for a very long time. I’m sure not as long as some people, but ever since I first heard them play on a show way back in the day called farmclub.com, I was sure to get my hands on as much of their music as I could. It took 6 long years of waiting to get from A Different Kind of Pain to Superfiction, even though there was The Killer and the Star project in there that did help fill the void. Now, after an even longer wait of 8 years and an entire line-up change, Cold has released their newest album, The Things We Can’t Stop. This is my track by track review and grading of this album; I have only heard two songs so far, so this will be my first take on most of these songs and I am both excited and anxious to hear what else is in store.   Intro ...
