Editor's Note:  Please welcome Mike out of Liverpool, England to Madness To Creation.  He's going to cover the darker side of music and help with video content!  I am elated to have him on board with Madness To Creation.  Here he is discussing his take with the Covid-19 pandemic and the music industry.  Here is Mike below! Now, there are many that say I’m not qualified to write a piece on this, beyond being a generally angry Northern gobshite, but, as someone who loves music, live music in particular, I feel I have a right to an opinion.   It’s no secret by now that this pandemic is having horrific impacts on the lives of almost everyone. That is an unfortunate given. But, particularly in the UK, there does seem to be a sector that is being hit harder than most; the arts. Whe...

(Album Review) “Lamb Of God” by LAMB OF GOD

The new self-titled release from Lamb Of God is the first in five years and also sees the debut of their new drummer, Art Cruz. Two decades ago, the quintet from Virginia erupted into the metal scene and grew into the household name they hold today. The new album explores the evolution of their sound with varying styles presented throughout their tracks. The haunting opening to Memento Mori introduces the dark, demonic side to their sound. The simple guitar lead, low vocals and eerie ghost like backing vocals create a mood reminiscent of Gothic horror before erupting into full instrumentation and harsh vocals. The theatrics of this intro bring something different; it’s not necessarily the opening to an album you might expect. Checkmate continues their heavy sound with powerful distorted...

(EP Review) “Ether” by MARK MORTON

This past Friday, Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton released his solo EP entitled "Ether" via Rise Records.  This EP will take the listener to another side of Mark Morton as a person and as a musician. The EP features guest appearances by touring vocalist Mark Morales, John Carbone of Moon Tooth, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm and Howard Jones of Light The Torch(ex-Killswitch Engage).  Mark Morton started to get recognition from his solo career for his smash hit of "Cross Off", which featured the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Webster's Dictionary defines "Ether" as a colorless but highly flammable liquid.  It is used as a solvent in scientific laboratories.  The title of the EP is appropriate based upon Mark Morton's work on this EP.  He's able to use his intricate guitar work on t...
