(Mental Health Conversations) Madness To Creation Podcast Season 2 Ep. 12: Francesco Artusato of LIGHT THE TORCH

Editor's Note:  Francesco Artusato, guitarist for metal band Light The Torch recently appeared on the second season of Madness To Creation Podcast.  Light The Torch recently released their album "You Will Be The Death Of Me" via Nuclear Blast Records.  The album tugs at the heartstrings in typical Howard Jones fashion, with lyrics that cut through the listener while Fran and Ryan provide the insane guitar work.  I will be reviewing this album via Instagram TV and via TikTok.  Look for Mental Health Checks @madnesstocreation.  In this mental health conversation on the Madness To Creation Podcast, Fran of Light The Torch talks about the writing process of "You Will Be The Death Of Me", group therapy sessions with Howard and Ryan of the band, his mental health breakthroughs while seeing h...

Jeff Buehner of THE LOYAL ORDER/ROUGH CUTT Discusses “Ready For Dead”, Signing with EMP Label Group & Writing Process with Mark Dean for Madness To Creation

Contributor's Note:  The Loyal Order first hatched as a studio project several years ago in Portland, when Jeff Buehner was approached to write a theme song for a regional outdoor hunting reality show.  He reached out to guitarist Brandon Cook for a heavy riff, and the result was a song called Off the Grid (Superhuman).  It aired regionally in the Pacific NW for two seasons. A bassist by trade, singing is a new beginning for Jeff.  The songs were originally crafted with a different vocalist in mind, but after laying scratch tracks for the first few songs, the producer convinced him to lay the final tracks himself.    From this songwriting partnership between Buehner and Cook, the songs began to flow. They soon approached Producer Rob Daiker at The Commune in Portland, Oregon, who has...

(EP Review) “Ether” by MARK MORTON

This past Friday, Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton released his solo EP entitled "Ether" via Rise Records.  This EP will take the listener to another side of Mark Morton as a person and as a musician. The EP features guest appearances by touring vocalist Mark Morales, John Carbone of Moon Tooth, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm and Howard Jones of Light The Torch(ex-Killswitch Engage).  Mark Morton started to get recognition from his solo career for his smash hit of "Cross Off", which featured the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Webster's Dictionary defines "Ether" as a colorless but highly flammable liquid.  It is used as a solvent in scientific laboratories.  The title of the EP is appropriate based upon Mark Morton's work on this EP.  He's able to use his intricate guitar work on t...

(Album Review) “Into The Black Sky” by COLD KINGDOM

On May 24th, Minneapolis’ explosive hard rock band Cold Kingdom released Into the Black Sky.  It is the band’s first full-length album following the release of EPs The Moon and the Fool and a self-titled work.  Due to the powerful female voice of Elissa Pearson, the band will remind some of Evanescence.  That is the logical comparison, but listeners should also detect aspects of Breaking Benjamin and Halestorm in the band’s presentation as well.  That being said, Into the Black Sky fully demonstrates Cold Kingdom’s power and creativity as they are beginning to become their own force on the music scene!  The rest of the band is comprised of Evan Ogaard on guitar, Jason Michael on bass, Chris Morley on drums, and Collin Pearson on keyboards. The debut single off the album is “A ...

Madness To Creation’s Bangers of 2018!

Editor's Note:  What an incredible year for music!  What an incredible year for Madness To Creation.  Adding more contributors, working on adding a podcast, and we are making this into a reality by being genuine about the music that we love.  This BANGERS of 2018 list certainly take the damn cake for 2018.  These artists all have something special and will be artists to certainly look out for in 2019.  Some of these were from artists/bands that reached out to us.  They make you want to scream, "let's go" as you find new reasons to fall in love with music all over again!  This is in no particular order. "Cages" by MONSTER EATS MANHATTAN Banger Status:  This album just explodes with infectious energy and raw passion.  They are also activists.  "Screaming To Be Heard" is one of the ...

“Revival” by Light The Torch, appropo!

It is appropo that the title of the album is "Revival".  A few years ago, former Killswitch Engage frontman Howard Jones left the band to clear his head.  The pressures of success, touring, and always striving for the proverbial brass ring was becoming overwhelming for him, as it was taking a toll on his mental health and physical health.  Take that shot in the arm, a complete examination of the inner soul and well being, and the copious amounts of adrenaline rush that Light The Torch has created with "Revival", we are experience a full-on awakening with one of the premier, distinctive voices in metal today.  This Friday, Light The Torch will be releasing "Revival" via Nuclear Blast Records. Light The Torch is composed of Howard Jones(ex-Killswitch Engage, Blood Has Been Shed) on vocals, ...
