We Nerd Out Vol. 109: Bands MADNESS TO CREATION Covered in 2019! Year End Playlist!

I want to share this playlist with you.  Honestly, I thought we hit the pinnacle when we shot Warped Tour.  If you would've told us we would've covered Blink 182, Tool, Godsmack(twice) and New Kids On The Block in the same year, I would've been dreaming.  As the editor of Madness To Creation, I want to personally thank the following photographers/reviewers who made this incredible year possible: Will Wight, Crios Valentino, Kim Casper, Bryan Bardes, Amber Lyons, Kelz Bailey, Michelle Barron, Emily McDermott, Shawn Doyle, Mike Victorick, Ian Storck, Christopher James Ryan, Eva Dang, Holly Royle, Mark Dean, Derrick Climer, Richard Lepre, Evan Zwisler, Glenn Fernetti, Chris McCormick, Megan Jane Earp, Shannon Myers, John Nelson, and William Zimmermann, and Katie Hovland Madness To Creat...

MADAME MAYHEM Converses with Madness To Creation on Mental Health and Wellness and Touring with SHIM!

Editor's Note:  Madame Mayhem recently provided direct support to Shim at Lefty's Live Music in Des Moines this past Friday.  It was a cold winter night, yet there were small signs of spring in the air.  The poor band had to park like two blocks away and the tour manager shoveled out a path for them so they could get through.  Yes, there's 9,000 inches of snow in Iowa.  The band has such a vibrant, unique rock sound that I can't help but vibe to every time that I listen to them.  Their live show is a fun experience as well, tight musicianship, plus front-lady Madame Mayhem oozes with charisma.  Fans can find Madame Mayhem at the following locations: www.madamemayhem.com www.instagram.com/madamemayhem www.twitter.com/MayhemOfficial www.facebook.com/madamemayhem They start off...

(Concert Review) SHIM Live at Lefty’s Live Music in Des Moines, Iowa (3/8/2019)

It was a Friday night in Des Moines, Iowa and tucked away in the college district of Des Moines, Iowa is an intimate concert venue called Lefty's Live Music.  This past Friday night, Shim(which features the original vocalist of Sick Puppies) with special guests Madame Mayhem and Iowa local bands Caught In The Crypt and Alter Within took the stage.  As a side note, you will get to read about Madame Mayhem in a separate interview and review, so be on the look out for that this week! Caught In The Crypt and Alter Within both showed how Iowa gets down with their brand of local hard rock.  They both did a solid job representing the local scene and exemplifying what it means to be a local band supporting a touring act.  I saw one of the members of Caught In The Crypt offer to help tear down a...

(Album Review) “All I See Is War” by Sevendust

On May 11th, the legends from Atlanta, Georgia known as Sevendust released their 12th studio album entitled "All I See Is War".  Sevendust is like that boxer that sticks around for one more fight ala Chuck Wepner in the sense that they get cut, bloodied, battered, and bruised but they come back for more to deliver some of the most influential music the underground alternative/metal world has ever seen with their infectious grooves and r&b vocals that Lajon Witherspoon possesses. Fresh off of a Grammy nomination for their smash hit "Thank You", Sevendust gives their fans what they always deliver on and that is impeccable grooves and hard hitting riffs, case in point with the opening single "Dirty".  The track showcases yet another new beginning for the band in their partnership with Ri...

“1711” by Katastrophes Tomb, raw bludgeoning power!

After recently seeing their set when they opening for The Acacia Strain during their one-off show before embarking on the Vans Warped Tour, I became further intrigued with this band.  It was an intense live show that was highly engaging for the packed house at the Vaudeville Mews.  This band is known as Katastrophes Tomb, and on July 21st, they have released their EP entitled "1711" via Reverb Nation, Bandcamp, and SoundCloud. Katastrophes Tomb is composed of Vincent Venn on vocals, Taylor Soloman on drums, Brian Lundy on guitars, Curtis Coleone on bass, and Joe Youngbear on guitars.  This year alone, Katastrophes Tomb has shared the stage with the likes of the aforementioned The Acacia Strain, Flaw, Psychostick, Motograter, Mushroomhead, Madame Mayhem, and American Head Charge.  They a...
