(Single Premiere) “Hit Me Like Sugar” by THE VELVICKS

Today, The Velvicks have announced their upcoming EP RUN to be released this spring. The five-track EP carries rock and roll influences spanning decades crafting a sound that is both familiar yet distinctly nuanced and exhilarating. With the EP announcement comes The Velvicks' debut single "Hit Me Like Sugar." Lead vocalist Vick Nader describes "Hit Me Like Sugar": "This is our motorcycle song. The inspiration for this song was a hot biker Ed and I met a couple years ago at a bar in Brooklyn. We were both stunned like teenagers by her and her passion for the motorcycling craft. We’ve never seen her again but it was enough to inspire us to create this dirty toned/sexy/Motorhead vibe tune that is a full throttle from the moment it starts until it’s abrupt ending. Just like a crash."  ...

(Concert Review) CLUTCH Live at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey (12/30/2019)

There are few certainties left in this world.. however the band Clutch just happens to be part of two of them. 1) They put on a great show for their audiences and 2) They usually play aspectacular end of the year show in NJ at the Starland Ballroom. Clutchmas this year was actually a 3 night event happening in three different states: NC, NJ and then finishing up in Philadelphia on New Year's Eve.Lucky for me that I was able to be there for this year's CLUTCHMAS concert in NJ. The night began for me with Damon Johnson, who by name I was not familiar with. However he was the singer and guitarist for the band 90's southern rock inspired Brother Cane who had some popularity with the tune "And Fools Shine On" which was amongst his short set. He also made mention of the fact that he was hon...

(Boxed Set Review) “1979 Boxed Set” by MOTORHEAD

When Madness To Creation thinks of Motorhead, we think of the words unrelenting, unleashed and an all-out sonic assault.  Motorhead is where the band would unite the punk world and the metal world as one.  Motorhead gathered some serious momentum in 1979 with the albums "Overkill" and "Bomber", and 40 years have passed, and this led to the superfan collection of Motorhead with their "1979 Boxed Set", which was released this past Friday. Every show would start off with Motorhead saying, "We are Motorhead and we play rock and roll".  Truer words were never spoken in the history of music.  Philthy Animal's drumming would influence a young Lars Ulrich to start up a band.  Their take no prisoners attitude also played a major influence in groups like Pantera, Alice In Chains, and Misfits.  Mo...

(Concert Review) DIO RETURNS Live at The Myth in Maplewood, Minnesota (6/15/2019)

It was a rainy night at The Myth in Maplewood, Minnesota, which was appropo for this evening as the fans at The Myth in Maplewood, Minnesota turned out to see Dio Returns live on this rainy night.  This night was essentially a tribute to legendary metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who lost his battle to stomach cancer about five years ago.  EyeIlusion presented Dio in holographic form and the original members of Dio, with the exception of the bass player who is in Dio Disciples commanded the stage on this night with special guest Jizzy Pearl's Love/Hate.  Jizzy Pearl's Love/Hate was the first to take the stage. What a solid opening band that Jizzy Pearl's Love/Hate was.  They commanded the stage and Jizzy Pearl has a voice that can belt it.  It's plain to see why he was involved as a mem...
