(Highlight Reel): Juno Award Winning Alt-Rockers DEAR ROUGE Educates Us on Social Media Usage with “Fake Fame”

Editor's Note:  Here at Scholastic Perspectives, we'll be examining social media usage and its impact on students coming up.  As an educator, one thing I've noticed is missing is the lack of digital citizenship that is being taught towards our students.  Because of this, students aren't socialized like they should be and major cyberbullying issues arise because of the lack of digital citizenship in the curriculum.  As educators, we need to realize that cell phones are here to stay and we need to adapt, and that's teaching students how to interact appropriately on their cell phones.  Also, set aside times to put away the cell phone and be present, especially when you're with loved ones, nature, or at concerts and other forms of entertainment.  In this highlight reel with Scholastic Perspect...

(Mental Health Conversation) Madness To Creation Podcast Ep. 45: Jason Singer aka MICHIGANDER

Editor's Note: Jason Singer aka Michigander joins the Madness To Creation Podcast for the 45th episode. This past March, Michigander released their EP entitled "Everything Will Be OK Eventually", which has received from rave reviews from the likes of Detroit Free Press, KCRW and Medium. I definitely appreciate Medium's quote, which they said "Authentic rock vibes and deeply-felt lyrics." That's Michigander in a nutshell folks. When you listen to Michigander, it's not just instruments, lyrics and singing, it's emotions running the gamut. Fans can find Michigander on Facebook and Instagram @michiganderband 3:04- Jason Singer discussing his recent livestream performance in his hometown in Michigan 3:50- Jason discussing the difference between livestreaming and performing in front of a...

If you want to achieve something in life yo...

(Mental Health Conversations): Jared Navarre of STATIC CYCLE

Editor's Note:  Forget 2020.  Static Cycle is not letting 2020 get to them.  They have released several singles as of late entitled "Wolf", "Boxes" and most recently "Stay".  "Stay" is an incredibly personal song that takes the account of Jared(frontman)'s best friend's son, who tragically passed away during physical education class.  Jared talked to his best friend Ian's father and they come up with a beautiful yet somber concept about celebrating unity and sharing in one another's burdens.  Fans were asked to submit handwritten notes of the person that they've lost in their lives in order to tell Ian's story.  The video is a tearjerker for sure.  In this mental health conversation with Madness To Creation, Jared Navarre of Static Cycle discusses the "Stay" music video, what's next for 20...

Al Ruiz of THE SH-BOOMS Converses with Madness To Creation on Mental Health Awareness and their Very First Gig

Editor's Note:  It was a nice conversation with the bass player Al Ruiz of The Sh-Booms for Madness To Creation.  Out of Orlando, Florida, The Sh-Booms have seen success sharing the stage with the likes of The B-52's, The Roots, Of Montreal, and Big Freedia and have also been featured on NPR.  In fact, Kate Pierson of The B-52's describes The Sh-Booms as, "soulful and bluesy and all of the things that you would want in this sometimes humdrum world of modern music.  Our crowd loves them!".  That is quite the praise from a member of a legendary pop/rock band.  Al Ruiz also discusses "The Blurred Odyssey", mental health awareness and their first gig.  Fans can find The Sh-Booms at the following locations: www.theshbooms.com www.instagram.com/theshbooms www.facebook.com/theshbooms ...

(Music Video Review/Mental Health Moments) “Disaster Party” by MAGIC GIANT

This rising alternative/pop-rock trio MAGIC GIANT is well along their way.  They've been invited to perform their latest single "Disaster Party" on Good Morning America for Friday, March 6th!  With this track, it's a certainly a perfect way to kick off Spring Break season. Magic Giant is composed of Austin Bisnow on vocals/percussion, Zambricki Li on fiddle/banjo and Zang on guitars.  They blend some unique pop hooks with alternative rock arrangements to make quite an eclectic sound. The song is catchy and it's heartfelt, and it talks about casting your cares aside, even just for a brief moment.  Instead of wallowing in one's own self-pity, Magic Giant just wants to grab you by the hand and take you to their soundscape where you can escape your troubles for a little while.  The whist...

Aaron Wood of ASHLAND Converses with Madness To Creation on Mental Health Awareness, Disgusting Restrooms and Life on the Road!

Editor's Note:  It was an absolutely fantastic time talking with guitarist Aaron Wood of Ashland for Madness To Creation.  This band is definitely on the rise with their catchy pop sensibilities, yet subtle workmanship in their arrangements that make the song snap, crackle and pop.  The band recently released their latest record entitled "Over The Moon" via Rise Records this past December to critical acclaim.  They also had an incredible 2019 opening for Our Last Night and providing direct support for Motion City Soundtrack on a New Year's Eve gig.  Fans can find Ashland at the following locations: www.facebook.com/AshlandOfficial www.twitter.com/ashlandofficial www.instagram.com/ashlandofficial Madness To Creation:  Aaron, what's going on today?
