(Mental Health Conversations) Madness To Creation Podcast Season 2 Ep. 16: Jim Gwynn of JIP

Editor's Note:  Jim Gwynn of Chicago indie rock band JIP joined the Madness To Creation Podcast to talk about the band's legacy out of Chicago, making comedy music, and how he had a plethora of celebrities react to JIP's music as of late.  This was a hilarious conversation but also a meaningful and poignant discussion based on mental health, Jim losing his mother a couple of years ago, and celebrity roasts and whether or not comedians are as happy as they portray themselves to be.  The band will be releasing "Thought This Was Over" coming up and it includes work with Royce of Spacehog.  Fans can find JIP on Facebook, their official website, and Instagram. 0:50- Jim talking about Covid, and Local H at the Metro, and how the Metro is requiring the vaccine passport 1:37- How Jim has...

Powerman 5000 Still Has IT After All These Years!

Lineup changes, persona changes, and still killing it after all these years is how many people would describe hard rock legends Powerman 5000.  The Dudley Boys have used Powerman 5000 for entrance music in WWE, their music has been featured in video games, tv shows, and the like, and people still remember them for their colossal smash "When Worlds Collide".  Powerman 5000 brought their "New Wave" tour to Spicoli's Grill in Waterloo, Iowa. Earlier that day, Spider One, the esteemed frontman of Powerman 5000, conducted a radio interview with Rock 108.  In that interview, Spider One stated that he still can't believe that people still come out to see them and jump and mosh to their music after all these years.  It was plain to see why with their blistering set in front of a packed room at Sp...

“1711” by Katastrophes Tomb, raw bludgeoning power!

After recently seeing their set when they opening for The Acacia Strain during their one-off show before embarking on the Vans Warped Tour, I became further intrigued with this band.  It was an intense live show that was highly engaging for the packed house at the Vaudeville Mews.  This band is known as Katastrophes Tomb, and on July 21st, they have released their EP entitled "1711" via Reverb Nation, Bandcamp, and SoundCloud. Katastrophes Tomb is composed of Vincent Venn on vocals, Taylor Soloman on drums, Brian Lundy on guitars, Curtis Coleone on bass, and Joe Youngbear on guitars.  This year alone, Katastrophes Tomb has shared the stage with the likes of the aforementioned The Acacia Strain, Flaw, Psychostick, Motograter, Mushroomhead, Madame Mayhem, and American Head Charge.  They a...
