Jeff Buehner of THE LOYAL ORDER/ROUGH CUTT Discusses “Ready For Dead”, Signing with EMP Label Group & Writing Process with Mark Dean for Madness To Creation

Contributor's Note:  The Loyal Order first hatched as a studio project several years ago in Portland, when Jeff Buehner was approached to write a theme song for a regional outdoor hunting reality show.  He reached out to guitarist Brandon Cook for a heavy riff, and the result was a song called Off the Grid (Superhuman).  It aired regionally in the Pacific NW for two seasons. A bassist by trade, singing is a new beginning for Jeff.  The songs were originally crafted with a different vocalist in mind, but after laying scratch tracks for the first few songs, the producer convinced him to lay the final tracks himself.    From this songwriting partnership between Buehner and Cook, the songs began to flow. They soon approached Producer Rob Daiker at The Commune in Portland, Oregon, who has...

PContributor's Note: Puddle of Mudd have recently risen from the ashes with their sixth studio album in nearly a decade, entitled Welcome to Galvania. Formed in 1991, Puddle of Mudd has sold over seven million albums and has had a string of number-one singles, including the hits “Blurry,” "She Hates Me," and "Famous." Their  newest album, Welcome to Galvania, was produced by Cameron Webb (Alkaline Trio, Disturbed, Motorhead). It also marks the band’s first full-length album since Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love and Hate in 2009.  “This album has been a long time coming. I’m just so happy to finally get it out there for my fans,” says Puddle of Mudd’s frontman, Wes Scantlin. “I hope the new music inspires my fans to live their lives. Don recently wrapped up emceeing the Monsters of Rock Cruise and also emceed The Masquerade Rock Fest featuring Puddle of Mudd, Fuel and Sponge this past December in New York.  He will be on tour with Biff Byford of Saxon coming up.  In this interview with Madness To Creation, Don Jamieson discusses "Denim and Laughter", mental health awareness, and some amazing bands and albums that he loves!  Fans can find Don Jamieson at the following locations: www.faceb...

(Concert Review) MASQUERADE ROCK FEST featuring PUDDLE OF MUDD, FUEL & SPONGE hosted by DON JAMIESON Live at The Space in Westbury, New York (12/1/2019)

It was a crazy Sunday night as Don Jamieson of That Metal Show hosted The Masquerade Rock Fest featuring Puddle of Mudd, Fuel and Sponge with special guests The Raskins live at The Space in Wantagh, New York.  It was a night filled with nostalgia and feel-good rock with plenty of hits that took you back to the days of yesteryear, with Puddle of Mudd finding a new lease on life and making a massive comeback for the ages.   After Don Jamieson kicked off the night, The Raskins took the stage.  I would describe The Raskins as stylistically unique.  They seem to have brought quite a mixed bag of influences to the Space stage in Wantagh.  They had the retro rock feels of groups like KISS and Thin Lizzy, while mixing the songwriting sensibilities of people like Jim Croce and Don MacLean....

Madness To Creation Converses with Helena Cos of Spider Rockets on Cancer Can Rock Benefit, Covering Pat Benatar, and “Along Came A Spider”

Editor's Note:  It was a great time conversing with frontwoman Helena Cos on Spider Rockets, who are quickly becoming a fast rising act in the hard rock scene.  They have a brand of no-frills rock that can be embraced in the hole in the wall type of locations along with being embraced at the headbanger's parking lot.  Spider Rockets promises to bring the sleaze and the noise into rock.  They will be rocking the Cancer Can Rock Benefit this summer in Amityville, New York along with sharing the stage with the likes of Saving Abel, Puddle Of Mudd, and Tantric as well.  Fans need to go pick up a copy of "Along Came A Spider", which was released this past January.  Fans can find Spider Rockets at the following locations: www.facebook.com/spiderrockets www.spiderrockets.com Madness To C...

“Quinceanera” by Vendetta Red, unique arrangements!

Sometimes when I think of arrangements, I think of HGTV, you know where the snarky person gripes because the countertops aren't granite or that the master bedroom isn't the size of a three bedroom apartment.  I also think of many fabrics many arrangements to try to make that room full of uniqueness and have a certain amount of flair and pizzazz.  Also, have you also tried to put a few brushstrokes too much to add that color and it sticks out too much, or add that piece of furniture in a room and it sticks out too much instead of blend in with the design.  That's kind of what you get with Vendetta Red's April 13th release of "Quinceanera", which is being released via Cleopatra Records. Case in point, I love the arrangements and soulful melodies of the opening track entitled "Swim", the arr...

“Along Came A Spider” by Spider Rockets, headbanger’s parking lot!

Out of New Jersey comes a band that brings back the studded spiked leather jackets, the mohawks, the piercings, and the endless amount of tattoos, and that band in New Jersey's own Spider Rockets.  On January 26th, Spider Rockets unleashed their latest record entitled "Along Came A Spider" via P-Dog Records. Spider Rockets is composed of Helena Cos on vocals, Johnny Nap on guitars, while Dale Whitaker and Jimmy Mui round out the rhythm section.  They create their music for those that just want to rock, those that blare their music while waiting for the next big concert to come through town, and music that is meant for a bunch of sweaty people packed in a club like sardines and just want to leave their cares and troubles behind and want to sweat it out by rocking out to some fist-pumping r...
