That Time JOEY JORDISON Filled in for Lars Ulrich at Download 2004! Full Concert Inside!

It's with a heavy heart to report that Slipknot co-founder and Murderdolls/Sinsaenum guitarist/drummer Joey Jordison passed away in his sleep.  Joey's family released the following statement in regards to his passing: Joey's death has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow, To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart and his love for all things family and music. On a personal note, I remember seeing Slipknot live at the US Cellular Center for the "All Hope Is Gone" tour in 2008.  I remember the energy Joey brought behind the kit and immediately realizing he was one of the sickest drummers I have ever seen live.  Joey was a showman behind the kit and he hit harder than most metal drummers I've seen.  Joey was so good t...

(Album Review) “Omega Kaleid” by Gizmachi

Founded in 1996 (oh my goodness they're the same age as me!) Gizmachi grew to make a name for themselves among the local Orange County, NY, hardcore/metal scene. The band have an interesting backstory. The band caught the eyes and ears of Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan and signed to his label, Big Orange Clown (a subsidiary of Sanctuary Records) for the release of their debut, The Imbuing, in 2005. From 2005-2006, GIZMACHI spent time on the road supporting The Imbuing, including high profile festivals such as Ozzfest and Rock AM Ring in Europe before going on an extended 16-year hiatus. Following their break, the band GiZmAcHi have returned with a powerful new album in 'Omega Kaleid'. Opening with 'Winter', I'm greeted with a clean guitar lead and soaring vocal line. It's i...

(Mental Health Conversations): AMERICA PART TWO

Editor's Note:  New Jersey socially conscious, mental health conscious trio America Part Two recently released their music video for "Welcome To The Times", which follows up with previously released singles "I Don't Wanna" and "Glaciers."  The aforementioned singles take on hatred, racism and those that are just creeps towards women head on with their emotionally charged lyrics and powerful arrangements.  Case in point, the single "I Don't Wanna" talks about when a woman says no, she means no and that's the end of the discussion.  In this mental health conversation with Madness To Creation, America Part Two members Alex Fabio(vocals/guitars), Fred Rainville(vocals/bass) and Sam Weingarten on drums discusses education, dealing with loss of a grandfather and their music.  Fans can find Ameri...

(Single Mashup Review): What Kind of Sorcery Is This: MEGADETH/THE JACKSON 5 “Sweating Robins”

What kind of sorcery does Bill McClintock do with his mashups?  I honestly thought the pinnacle was when he did a mashup of "Round and Round" by Ratt and "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye.  Then, Bill took it to the next level with "Sulfur" by Slipknot and "Wannabe" by The Spice Girls.  Just when you think there is NO WAY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH that Bill McClintock outdoes himself, he raises the bar even further with a mashup of "Sweating Bullets" by Megadeth and "Rockin' Robin" by The Jackson 5.  Check it out above!  It will not leave your head ever again!  This man is a total genius!

(Album Review) “Your Receding Warmth” by BOUNDARIES

Having originally formed in 2015, the metallers from Connecticut have taken their sound to explore new guttural depths. ‘Your Receding Warmth’ by Boundaries follows the release of their 2019 EP ‘My Body In Bloom’. Aggressive vocals, guttural lows and pretty epic breakdowns are what you will find on this album. ‘Is Survived By’ bulldozes straight in there – this isn’t an album to gently get into, it throws you headfirst into the (metaphorical) mosh pit. They take influences from a wide variety of sources, including those well-known early metal bands that lured us all into the dark world of metal: Slipknot, Linkin Park, Static X. Tracks ‘Get Out’ and ‘Behind the Bend’, in particular, both bring in a few recognisable Slipknot elements. The spoken elements that appear throughout the album i...

(Album Review) “Deliverance” by FIGHT THE FIGHT

‘Deliverance’ is the new album from Norwegian high-octane metallers Fight The Fight who founded under the name Faenskap. This release follows on from their debut album which landed in 2017. ‘Deliverance’ is described as having the stompy power of Slipknot’s heaviest songs – the track certainly has elements that are reminiscent of Slipknot, along with some aspects that could derive from the more extreme metal genres. The layered vocals deliver a full sound that really enhances the texture of the music. The guitar tones used are interesting; the rhythm guitars almost have a more rock n’ roll edge to them. The lead guitar brings in a hint of dissonance with a soaring lead that is present throughout most of the song. Altogether it’s a somewhat eclectic mix of tones and textures. It’s a good...

Maik Weichert of HEAVEN SHALL BURN Discusses the Berlin Wall Coming Down & “Of Truth and Sacrifice” with Madness To Creation

Editor's Note:  It was rather awesome talking to legendary guitarist Maik Weichert of Heaven Shall Burn for Madness To Creation.  It felt like old friends getting together over a beverage and just shooting the breeze.  On March 20th, the legendary German metal band released their latest album "Of Truth And Sacrifice" and in this conversation, Maik of Heaven Shall Burn talks about President Trump, mental health awareness, the writing process from the album and even being there in person when the Berlin Wall came crashing down.  It was a music lesson and a modern history lesson of sorts.  Fans can find Heaven Shall Burn at the following locations: www.facebook.com/officialheavenshallburn www.heavenshallburn.com Madness To Creation:  You guys have been around for over 20 years, and o...

LOU BRUTUS Converses with Madness To Creation on Snoop Dogg Getting Him Blazed, Slipknot Fandom and His Book!

Editor's Note:  If you want to hear someone of class and pure entertainment value, look no further than the world-famous Lou Brutus of HardDrive XL, which is a nationally syndicated radio station.  The difficult question to ask him would be "who hasn't he seen" or "who hasn't he interviewed or photographed".  I was legitimately starstruck having a conversation with my favorite radio personality.  What sets Lou Brutus out from the rest is that he always has his tidbits of wisdom in between his interviews and the music that he plays on HardDrive XL.  In this interview with Madness To Creation, Lou Brutus discusses how he discovered Slipknot, Snoop Dogg getting him higher than a kite, and other amazing tales from his book "Sonic Warrior:  My Life As a Rock-N-Roll Reprobate".  His book is offi...
