(Concert Therapy Reviews): Stendhal Festival in Limavady, United Kingdom (7/9-10, 2021)

Following the publication of Northern Ireland’s roadmap to recovery, it was a breath  of fresh summer air for Stendhal Festival director Ross Parkhill and company as  they were given the green light to bring their award-winning festival into 2021 but  with a reduced capacity and spread over two weekends for social distancing.  Comfortably homed at Ballymulley Cottage Farm, Limavady, Stendhal Festival  started in 2011 and has expanded exponentially since inception. I previously  volunteered to help bring the festival together so I saw firsthand how much the  sense of community exists within the Stendhal team as well as the intense work they  put into delivering a great weekend.  After pitching our tent in our bubble of friends, we make our way to the fields and quickly notice the prec...

(Concert Review) Menace In Minneapolis featuring SUM 41 with special guests THE AMITY AFFLICTION Live at Skyway Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota (10/5/2019)

It was a crazy, weird, psychotic night as fans absolutely were jam packed in the Skyway Theater as Sum 41 headlined Menace In Minneapolis.  The Amity Affliction, Bowling For Soup, Less Than Jake, The Plot In You, and Authority Zero were all there to provide one of the biggest parties that the Skyway Theater has ever thrown. Because of the wretched traffic and endless road construction, I missed Authority Zero's set.  I did pick up their album "Broadcasting To The Nations" though and you'll see a review of the album this week on Madness To Creation.  The Plot In You was next to take the stage. This was a hard sell for the crowd as The Plot In You's music seemed like it was substantially darker as opposed to the upbeat punk(or ska groups) in Sum 41, Bowling For Soup and Less Than Jake....

The Musician’s Tribune Vol. 14: Minority 905 Picks Their Favorite Pop Punk Songs Exclusively with Madness To Creation!

Editor's Note:  It's been quite nice getting to know Canadian pop-punk band Minority 905.  The band that is known for their 10 minute Paramore discography cover recently released their album entitled "Dangerous Ambitions".  They decided to reveal their favorite pop-punk songs exclusively with Madness To Creation.  Fans can find Minority 905 at the following locations: www.facebook.com/Minority905 www.twitter.com/Minority905 www.instagram.com/minority905 Spasimir: 10. Quicksand - The Story So Far Great song all around from my favorite band of the 2010s. Really takes it back to the basics of punk with fast drums and guitars. Parker Cannon is one of the best voices in pop-punk right now and on this song, he killed it with every line.   9. My Friends Over You - New Found Glory C...

Johnny Christmas of Reel Big Fish Toots His Horn about Donald Trump, Beer, Money, and Beer Money, and Money for Beer with Madness To Creation!

Editor's Note:  It was a beautiful July evening in Iowa and Johnny Christmas, trumpeter(not a trumpist, he would smack me upside the head if I called him that) sat down with Sal and I at an Embassy Suites hotel in downtown Des Moines for this rather hilarious conversation about The Beer Run Tour while talking about Donald Trump, the Vans Warped Tour going on a cruise, and beer with us!  Special thanks to Mike from Earshot Media and for Sal for the work that he did(with a bit of my help) for this interview!  Let's see what Johnny Christmas has to say about these topics! Johnny:  Are these flowers real?  They make for a nice centerpiece for this interview! My daughter just turned 4! Sal:  My son just turned 7. M.T.C.:  No kids here, what do you like to do when you're not touring...

The Beer Run Tour Celebrates ‘Murica in Des Moines!

On July 3rd, The Beer Run Tour headlined by ska-masters Reel Big Fish stormed and danced on through the Simon Estes Amphitheater in Des Moines, Iowa.  The Expendables, The Queers, and Tunnel Vision served as special guests for this fun-filled, action packed tour!  Roughly 2,000 attendees danced and blitzed on through with Reel Big Fish and Co. in Des Moines.  Soon, you will get to see our interview with Johnny Christmas of Reel Big Fish.  Tunnel Vision was the first band to take the stage. Out of San Diego, California, Tunnel Vision brought their brand of ska and a reggae vibe ala Sublime to the Simon Estes stage.  Tunnel Vision is composed of Hayden Hanson on guitars/vocals, Jacob Hernandez on bass, Tanner Payan on drums/backup vocals, Matt Risley on keyboards, and Doug Alani on sa...
