(Album Review) “What The Dead Men Say” by TRIVIUM

On April 24th, one of the most powerful acts in today’s metal scene Trivium released their ninth studio album What The Dead Men Say via Roadrunner Records.  The band--composed of vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy, guitarist Corey Beaulieu, bassist Paolo Gregoletto, and drummer Alex Bent--continues to evolve their sound and in the process has produced an absolute masterpiece!  Through the press release, Heafy states, “Throughout our career we’ve learned who we are.  We’ve found a really great place to exist in this world.  We love melodic death metal, we love black and death metal, and we love hardcore.  What The Dead Men Say is everything we do on one record.” Following an introduction, the title track is the first song on the album.  An awe-inspiring guitar riff eases the transition fr...

(Album Review) “Drag Me Down” by CABAL

Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, CABAL have quickly made a name for themselves following the release of their debut album. Mark of Rot, dropped in 2018, and was followed by a number of festival appearances, and tours around Europe, Japan and North America. Drag Me Down sees CABAL continue to grow and develop their sound. Featuring and darker sound, and a diverse range of special guests, the new album does not disappoint. The album opens with Gift Givers and, from the off, one thing is very clear – they production of CABAL’s sound is of an incredibly high quality. Not only this, but they have managed to create a unique style with it. The intensity of their sound is compelling throughout each track on the album. (Album Review) “Patron Saint” by CWN ANNWN

"Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of the women", exclaims Conan The Barbarian.  I imagine as Conan The Barbarian is yelling this, the album "Patron Saint" by CWN ANNWN is blaring as a movie score to get Conan in battle with his mighty sword.  On June 28th, the epic metal giants out of St. Paul, Minnesota released "Patron Saint" for the masses. CWN ANNWN(pronounced coh-nuh-NOON) is composed of Julie Stelmaszewski on vocals, Mike Strohkirch on bass/vocals, Neil James on guitars, Harry Rostovtsev on guitars, and Jake Stone on drums.  While drawing influence by bands such as Iron Maiden and 3 Inches of Blood, the band hired Ian Combs at RiverRock Studios with the recording of the album.  The band has shared the stage with some monsters in metal includ...

(Album Review) “So What?” by WHILE SHE SLEEPS

On March 1st, U.K. arena rock/metalcore giants WHILE SHE SLEEPS released their followup to "You Are We" entitled "So What?" via Sleep Brothers/Spinefarm/Search and Destroy Records.  This record showcases While She Sleeps mastering the art of creating catchy melodies while still rocking pretty hard. Madness To Creation remembers being introduced to While She Sleeps as they provided direct support for Trivium and Arch Enemy last year.  We had the pleasure of interviewing Lawrence Taylor(vocalist), and we remember him being so passionate about engaging in a call to arms for a unified world and celebrating differences with one another instead of tearing one another down.  Those themes continue to be evident in "So What?". The album starts off with a hard hitting track entitled "Anti-Soci...

Deep in the backwoods of Louisiana comes a band that has a newfound purpose, a new found sobriety(congratulations to Cane Hill), and a renewed sense of focus which is allowing them to cultivate copious amounts of power and strength as Cane Hill has released "Too Far Gone" via Rise Records. Elijah Reed, vocalist of Cane Hill, has stated that it was them wanting to feel invincible and all powerful via LSD that caused them to lose themselves and they went on a journey to rediscover who they are, and what we have now is a band that gives fascism the middle finger and sobriety the fist pump salute with their latest offering entitled "Too Far Gone", which was released January 19th via Rise Records. "Too Far Gone" starts off with the title track, which showcases the power and the return of mode...
